I wonder if TC has been complaining about having to coach prospects who are athletically gifted but lack study habits, work ethic and dedication. If so, he's getting enough rope to hang himself out of this draft.

Not sure what people expect in the draft. Everybody can't believe that their "favorites" haven't been selected, and then get angry when the Giants pass them up. The entire league has passed them up. Last year it was Reddick and Bailiey. This year maybe Richardson and Jensen.
The sixth round pick will almost certainly be someone we haven't heard of.
Good size, major program. But I don't like that he's already had 4 significant injuries. Someone said he fills a need. He only fills a need if he makes the team. I'll settle for him being good enough to knock another LB off the roster.

Anyway... Kennard on tape doesn't seem to really have much burst. The versatility is nice though and it seems apparent they're looking for character guys.
This year they drafted players who have produced through their college careers and can play vs guys who look all world with measurements but really can't play

The only one making these picks ? I think not. Coughlin and the rest of the staff has some say so as well. Who was Ahmad Bradshaw before we drafted him ? Who was Brandon Jacobs before we drafted him ? Everybody want those sexy ass picks. But that's not the Giants style. Get over it

This simple statement is a masterpiece. It's seldom that you come across a statement so dismissive, yet so compact. In the space of five non-complex words, we find that this player is not only a dreaded "Tweener," he also has a "history of injuries."
In other, less eloquent words, he's a gimp (injuries), and he doesn't really fit any role on an NFL team. Devastating!

Well Bradshaw was a very productive beast at Marshall, over 3
full seasons with plenty of carries and pass receptions too.
But you're following something brought up by Dane above. While people want to rip Reese and Ross for the selections, I think the whole movement this year to "high character" guys that can contribute early rather than roster space eaters with high potential that never do shit (read, Marvin Austin etc, in here) is most definitely NOT JR and Ross alone. Maybe not even mostly them.
I think it's team wide throughout the FO; it certainly includes TC's voice, maybe Fewell's too, and almost surely the Maras and Tischs or let's just say "ownership."
I'm not sure how much of this movement was fomented by a "rotten" locker room, or worry about the loss of guys like Tuck and DD, or maybe a response to the FA system which makes a team "pay double" for taking high upside (but maybe immature) athletically gifted players that need 1-3 years of maturation/coaching to be productive.
But this smells like a very conscious, reasoned and well thought out approach to the team's current situation personnel-wise and also the way of the league re FA...
and some speed, at a position of need, played in a major program, multiple position possibility if need be, slid only because of injuries.
