he doesn't always track the ball well. He's going to need some work. He has talent though, and although he isn't the biggest guy on the field he's more than willing to mix it up.
and so far NYG clearly isn't ready to cut bait, even with a potential suspension looming.
I never said they were going to beat out Hill. But if the Giants do cut bait, or IR Hill, which certainly remains a possibility at this point, their odds of making the roster shoot up astronomically.
I also highly doubt the Giants would use a 5th rounder on a guy who is immediately in a fight for a roster spot. Not with so many other needs.
RE: he and Behre have a big uphill climb to make this roster
But why reach when you can

shows concerned the Giants are about the locker room. Is it the leadership that they lost as free agents, or was the locker room that bad last year?
Antrelle Rolle put it best, as far as the new guys they aquired this year "The FO wants to make sure they get players who understand they have to play hard and play to the end regardless of the circumstances." Or something like that.

They don't have to initially. Chances are Hill won't be on the roster for the first part of the season, so one of them could stick for the first 8 games as cover then get put on the practice squad (it tends to be a bit easier to stash during the season)
do go and try and count on Hill next season, a guy who three years running could not be counted on? I don't know how many more chances the Giants are going to give him.
The whole reason we were able to get him in the first place was because of his reputation as a fuck up. A reputation he is proving to be true.
I don't disagree, I've been one of the loudest here
in terms of not being flexible with his pattern of mistakes. But, the team's clearly showing more patience up to this point with no indication of reversing course as yet.
Was Hill injured? Teams can't simply stash players there anymore.
IF Hill's not available or gone, then Behre has a shot to be the backup otherwise he's got to knock Taylor off the roster to be #5.
We're loaded at CB, BJ's hill is steeper yet regardless of position. Practice squad candidate, I'd wager. Perhaps both will be.
It's impossible to tell how the WH process will play out. But again, I have a very hard time seeing the Giants pick a guy who probably won't make the roster when there are roster spots to be won at other places. Namely TE and OL.
Know who he is, but I'm gonna b*tch anyway!! Fire Reese And Coughlin! The Giants suck at drafting! Their Super Bowls was a fluke! This guy didn't run a 4.1 and he has small hands!! He was projected to be a 7th rounder. So Why the hell did we reach for this guy in the 6th ? (Sarcasm all the way on!!)
have to endure a rash of injuries at CB and/or Safety for a rookie to make it into the Giant secondary.
Safety is only a settled position for this season. Rolle is up for a contract. Hill might miss games or not, but giving him a long term deal is a BIG question. Who knows about Stevie.
Ranked him 139 out of his top 300 and said he could play safety as well. Said he has a strong Postseason and excellent Pro Day. Sounds like good value in the 6th round.
I thought he got progressively worse last season, ending with a
learning a position needs to really struggle(after a little initial success ) before he starts to understand.
He does have good measurables , sixth round is a good place to take a flyer on him.
Not if Will Hill isn't on the roster.

Have you watched Behre? He could certainly be the replacement for Rolle net year. He's got strong skills to play SS .

Then what?
I have never read a scouting report that said a player was "too strong."
I can't say I would've drafted him and I'm bullish on most ND players.
