Everyone remembers Bavaro's catch and run, but Robinson had a career night against a great secondary.

Passed away too young.

Best NFL player ever to come out of North Dakota State?

I remember a lot of people thought after that game we might have something for the future with him. It was only his second year and he could burn on the field. He never did much after 1986, but he was always around for that championship stretch from 1986-1990. With the speed he had I was always surprised they never tried to make a KR out of him early in his career.

A Stacy Robinson memory

I think it was the 1990 season. Robinson had been released in training camp. A co-worker/friend of mine was attending FDU in Teaneck at night working on his MBA and told me that Stacy Robinson was in his classes. Robinson had done the smart thing - earned his undergraduate degree and took advantage of the FDU education program that George Martin and the Giants had established for their players, setting himself up for a career beyond his playing days. My friend said that Robinson was a great guy. When injuries hit, the Giants gave Robinson a call and re-signed him, and he ended up being a part of a second Super Bowl champion. My friend also told me that Robinson, who lived in Hackensack at the time, used to jog to and from practice at Giants Stadium every day rather than drive just to get a little more of a workout.
Wasn't he the guy...

To whom Bill Parcells said, "Just go out there and run like hell and catch everything...like a street game."
George Adams was the 1985 1st rd pick and Robinson was the 2nd rd pick

-i remember him having a long TD against Dallas in the first Giant-Cowboy game (the one that ended with Simms fumbling deep in Dallas territory with the Giants down 2 pts.)

The 4th round pick in 1985 was Bavaro. That made the 1985 draft for the G-men.

didn't know that...

...speaking of receiving and the SB though... it is funny that each of the Giants victories featured a remarkable reception.

McConkey's rebound TD off Bavaro

Ingram's catch and run

Tyree's helmet catch

Manningham's sideline reception.

There was also a safety in 3 out of the 4 Giants SB wins.

we drafted another WR in the 5th round. Name was Tracy Henderson. So we drafted 2 WRs, one was Stacy, one was Tracy.

I had to look that up as I had no recollection of that name, but you are correct. From Iowa State.

That look-up reminded me we got Lee Rouson in the 8th round of that draft ... so a UDFA today. He was a pretty good all around player.
I remember
