The name escapes me at the moment, but wasn't it the guy who was running the program at the U. of Miami? Schellenberger, or something like that?
I check the site every day and thought I would come out of the closet and post to get some real football conversation. I have missed less than a handful of games over the last 30 years but remain devout no matter the record. I like the history and facts part of the Giants and will try to stick to the non-emotional which we all know "isn't easy."
I love Eli and his body of work over the last 11 years. I find it interesting this week that Tom Brady all of a sudden sucks because he can't get the ball off. Amazing what an offensive line and a little talent around him can do for a good Quarterback!!! See you all on the forum...

I believe he wanted to hire a general manager first and his choice was another “old friend” from one of his past teams. Does anyone know who Wellington wanted that caused their feud to go public?

I know George Young wanted Schellenberger to replace Parcells after his first year. I'm not sure if Mara wanted him a few years earlier? I'll probably post in a new thread later as this is driving me crazy.
Keep it up all the way to the Super Ball Gmen.
Been a lot of years I'd guess, more than 6, 07 or so, is when I last posted I think,
Hope all is going well.
I still see quite a few old names here.
Good to see them, like returning to a old neighborhood and finding the crew still well and happy.
This place has always attracted quite a varied diverse group. Quite remarkable for a football board.
McConkeyStache...just saw your post...you may want to start new thread asking that question as I doubt most have seen your question.
Also when reading threads and you go to page 2 or any other additional page when you arrow back to continue reading threads on that page it takes you back to page 1. Can that be corrected? Thanks this is by far my favorite site.
Hope the adds are helping with expenses. Two weddings and college the last few years have made it hard to contribute.
I don't have the issue you do with the back button. When I click "back" it takes me to the previous page, not to the first page.
I wanted to tell you, before I do, a thing, I think you should know….My only regret in life is really, I sometimes do not say some things that need to be said.
Sillly me and strange me, I know. But this place you provided for me, years ago. A very difficult period I was going through. You, this place, and peoples I had met here... brought me through it all.
We little know each other (not at all really), but know now you this…..you have helped a stranger, one you did not know.
Not intentionally perhaps, your love of the sport and the G's, I know are first, and it is for this youi do this thing. It is thankless mostly.
But nevertheless the intention or cause…your actions helped me when I needed a place in the heart to stay. And stay I did and you this board and the various peoples here... many years ago filled that empty spot.
It is time to go, as truth be told.. I have changed. No offense to others, I do no longer quite fit it. It is yes, I, that have changed. No fault to others.
Delete this if after you read it or leave it, as it is intended to be left. Others should perhaps know things are more than they seem by appearence at times.
You have done the greatest of things, you have helped one strange to you. When we pass they say we remember little, but the things of kindness we have done for others. I think there is truth to that, so I say remember this…..your actions, this place you created, were a kindness to me, though you know me not.
I cannot repay you, but feel certain you will be repaid.
Thanks
Ron in New Mexico
I admit to be a lurker for years. Used to post back in the day quite a bit, but the amount of trolling from eagle fans would enrage me. As a fan, its easy to root for a team and talk about greatness when everything's going well and breaking it right. I think its times like these that makes makes boards like this great! Ill give my two cents in appropriate areas on the forum, but...lets remember why we love this team..They give us the highest highs and lowest lows. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Im 28..life long fan from bridgewater, nj
Probably one of the few of my age to go back and watch a full season from the 86 and 90 team to appreciate what was and what is! Looking forward to next year pre thanksgiving sucks, but hey we all know damn well when the eagles and cowgirls beat themselves out the playoffs all will be well :)
You'll get a worldclass football education.
I played Div. 3 football (running back, flanker, some safety), plus many years of flag football in Arizona (one year taking our Arizona champions to the National Touch Football League championships in St. Louis (where several NFL retreads and fringe types were playing).
Now, while looking at the truly excellent recent changes made in the way they run and coach the Az Cardinals (after decades of the opposite), I still spend my time looking at BBI and other Giants sites. Go Blue!

I'm in the education field in NJ. 27 years old been a fans since my mom bought me a replica Dave Brown jersey lol.
Thanks for what you are doing so well.
I grew up in Brooklyn in the 50's and 60's and have been a Giants fan ever since I heard the Colts/Giants game on my dad's car radio back in the late 50's. I've been lucky enough to make it to most home games over the past decade and despite the "down in front" mentality of many "older" fans I am not of that ilk. Besides, nobody's hollering that at my 6'3" 260 lb. self.
I read here about folks being upset with Eli and his inconsistencies, his occasional "deer in the headlights" look, and his struggles in the past with INT's BUT he's been as good a QB as I've seen in blue and it will be difficult to replace him without sinking to number 1 or 2 draft pick status. Block for him and he is elite.
Anyway, thanks for this forum and the chance to BS with fellow fans!

After reading this site for years I finally made the move to log in and create this user ID. I have always enjoyed the exchange of ideas about the Giants as well as the NFT's almost as much!

Look it up....Tehama Street.....NOBODY knows it!!! :-)
I found myself missing discussing football with other Giants fans. I lurked for most of last season and have decided to join. BBI seems like a far superior site compared to what else is out there and I'm looking forward to sharing thoughts with other Giants fans.
