Down 14-7 with 47 seconds before halftime...

NYBEN : 6/22/2014 3:17 pm
With the ball on their own 29 yard line. Gentlemen to me that was the greatest drive of Eli Manning's career. For those that haven't figured it out I'm talking about the drive before the half of the Dallas playoff game. That drive was just brilliant ..brilliant play calling from the sideline and brilliant execution on the field. I love this game ,one of my all time favorites but to me that drive was as good as it gets. Yes even better that the Superbowl drives IMO
Definitely a game-changer.

Dallas was kicking our ass. I've always felt the Dallas win was a bigger upset that the Super Bowl, because the Super Bowl was a neutral site and we were healthier in the secondary by then.
But Roy Williams is going to the Pro Bowl!

that game now...truthfully if we don't answer their 20 play drive the way we did ,I don't think we win this game.
I agree

This was a magnificent drive....allthough I think the drive in Dallas in 2011 was the best of Eli's career

The drive you mention...was greatly impacted by the cocky and undisciplined Dallas defense

Unessissary roughness penalty, defensive holding, and letting Kevin Boss and Steve Smith run wild and free...Eli looked awesome too

Wade Phillips said that drive is what killed that Game for Dallas

I think his exact words were "We had them beat and tired"

Very few QBs during clutch/crunch time

are capable of championship play..Stat padders? Absolutely..Championship caliber when the chips are down? Few and far between..

I don't worry about Eli..Give him reasonable protection and you're gonna get what you became a fan for..

Wade may have been right ..but more than any thing that drive sucked the life out of the stadium. They had all the momentum and the Giants snatched it back in 47 seconds
Didn't Brady have 55 seconds

in the Superbowl?
Eli was absolutely money on that drive

with great throws to Steve Smith and Boss.

Steve Smith was just some great clutch play for the Giants during those 2007 playoffs. Big, big catches in every game.

yea

That was a wonderful game

and most satisfying. I said to myself that after that win, the Giants did all they needed to do for a great 2007 season. The rest was gravy to me.

Jerry Jones already had given out playoff tickets to his players for the Green Bay game the following week. What an asshole.

The Giants & Eli rammed it right up the Cowboy players asses and Jones at the same time. Even their fans had sore backsides for months after that game.

The whole game is on Youtube and will probably be removed soon. If you want to download it, click below.

The air has been just a little bit sweeter ever since.
Steve Smith

was great on that drive. His emergence late that year to give us a quality #3 WR was huge.
Wasn't the big pass on that drive to Toomer?

It from the link and it's amazing to see rookies making plays and vets like Toomer and Seubert doing there thing. It was very hard to imagine at the time, but we really had a championship team. Guys making plays all over the field, to the astonishment of the opposition and their crowd.
A very satisfying win

and very, very enjoyable post-game watching Jerry Jones' stupid mug and Terrell Owens' press conference.

"I bet Jerry Jones and his entire organization is absolutely sick."

My all-time favorite game anding quote.
The best thing about that drive was that the Cowboys
JohnB : 6/23/2014 7:04 am : link
just had the ball of almost 10 minutes and stuffed it into the endzone. Eli and the Giants NEEDED to answer with something, anything, even a field goal, before halftime, would have been good. Eli took 47 second and put 7 points on the board and took out the crowd.

To me, that was Eli's defining moment, the time when he showed the world that he was a clutch player.
