"step up" in order for us to have a successful season. In no particular order I think it's Will Beatty, Rueben Randle and Rashad Jennings. If these 3 guys play up to their potential I think the offense will be hard to stop. More than anything I would really love to see the offense get back to being balanced. I always thought that 2009 was the best year that we had offensively because of how balanced we were that season. On defense it's Demontre Moore, Jameel McClain and Jon Hankins. Demontre Moore has got to give us some pass rush opposite JPP. Hankins IMO has big shoes to fill, personally I think Hankins is up to the task and will play really well.McClain has to be "Robin" to Beason as "Batman" and turn that LB group into a strength rather than the weakness that it always seem to be.Those are my 6 guys ...who are your guys
Offense: Eli, Beckham, Beatty
Defense: JPP (step down mouth), Hankins, Moore
I hate this type of discussion, however. It assumes that players who aren't noticed by fans somehow are playing poorly or not "stepping up".
Defense: JPP, Moore, Williams or Hankins.
Defense: JPP, Hankins, Moore (Paysinger and Williams, as well).
Defense: JPP, Moore, Williams or Hankins.
I almost completely agree with this, except I'd sub out Moore and put in Stevie Brown with Hill gone.. and I'd definitively say Hankins for the 3rd spot.
Again ..of course we expect/hope all 53 play up to their potential or even above. However let's look at those guys that maybe can be "unsung" heroes.
Eli needs to play like the elite QB he's capable of being.
JPP needs to play like the DPOY candidate he's shown flashes of being.
Defensively it is firstly JPP. If he rebounds the pass rush won't be so awful, and if he is doubled it opens it up for the guys inside and the other DE. The other two I'd say are Hankins and Williams.
Defense: DRC, JPP, Hankins. Rush the passer and cover receivers. That's today's NFL.
