. . . we find out if there's an OL on this team, which completely controls whether the G-Men can run the ball OR throw it, I don't have a huge problem with that ranking. I suspect they'll be a good bit better than that, because they HAVE to be healthier.
But I don't think they should be ranked higher than that. They have to go out and show that they are a competitive team. They have to stay healthy. They have to get top performances from their top players. Their young players have to continue to improve. Lots to do to earn a higher ranking than that.
1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Denver Broncos

16 San Diego Chargers
17 Pittsburgh Steelers
18 St. Louis Rams
I don't think we're better than any of those 18 teams, regardless of the order they're listed in.
it's a fair rankings based off of where we finished last year. With the offseason moves I think we'll end up better than the 19th best team in the NFL, but the remains for us to prove.
I don't think you could rank them above the middle
and neither does ESPN. I don't think I've ever seen more roster turnover (particularly among starters). I think we're a lot better than last year, with the emphasis on "think".
to be ranked any higher. I have no problem with this rank.
Questionable Oline (especially LT and RG)
questionable Offensive scheme (may take awhile to click)
questionable TEs (very little experience and talent)
Questionable DEs (pass rus in particular)
NFC East is very weak compared to most divisions and the eagles right now should be the #1 to start the year.
end the season strong? Just because of the 7-3 record? 4 game win streak against teams with no qb....2 wins against a terrible Washington team? Offense could do nothing against Detroit in second half, and only a tipped pass gave them the victory...
How did they do against the powerhouse Cowboys? SD? Moral victory because they held Seattle to 23 points?
This was 7-9 team that was closer to being a 3-4 win team....
Getting all of the Eagles love. Are we just assuming that Foles is going to put up 27td/2int seasons every year just because he did it in 13 games last year? Not to mention, he lost his best WR in DJax. Their high-profile OL Lane Johnson is starting off the year on suspension.
Their defense finished 29th last year in total yards and were worse than us in PPG allowed. They really didnt add much except their first round draft pick OLB who many thought was a reach in that spot.
and Panthers I don't agree with. Who the hell will Cameron throw to? They have no freaking Wrs. The Falcons sucked more than we did. So what now? They will be stronger? So why not us. People come back on defense, and now we have a system change which could mean a better offensive production. Don't we have a HOF coach? 19 would be fine if Panthers and Falcons weren't ranked where they are. KC I want to see with losing 3/5 OL prospects.

But we had a winning record if you ignore the first six games.
still has the same defensive front 7 that carried them last season. I certainly hope NYG are much better this season and Carolina is much worse, but I have no issue with the Panthers being ranked above NYG in a preseason poll.
their stud LT, top 3 WRs, a good starting G and their best CB and replaced them with a whole lot of nothing. They could definitely be a lot worse than last year's team.
The loss of the WRs is a bit overblown, as Ginn was the only one they wanted back and they didn't have a dynamic passing attack last season. The OTs are a big question mark.
"Only reason we won 6 games is because of the QB's we played"
" this team quit"
"Blow the whole thing up, just keep Eli, Cruz and JPP"
"Out schedule was weak and we played weak teams"
"we lost all our games against teams with winning records"
What!!?? we're ranked 19th!!??...That's bullshit..Typical anti-NY bias..This team is much better than 19th..The defense was top 15..The OL was bad..etc..

Come on, not being a homer but giants ended the season strong
started off a bit slow, didnt lose anyone huge this offseason and gained a ton of talent!
Not really buying the Bears either, but that's more of a gut feeling.
The St. Louis rams are capable of making Eli's shoulder twitch 20 times in 1 game, and they are ranked just above us.
The team has a relatively soft schedule to start the season. If the season is going to be rough...we will know early.

Shocker!
You could make a case for those teams being ahead of us at this stage.
If our OL comes thru, we will be very competitive.
Because both teams have gone through a change or 20 since then?

Dropped to #15 before Week 1 based on injuries sustained in preseason.
Rose to #9 by the end of the regular season.
Oh and btw, finished up #1 about a month later...
