As you all know, I generally lean towards misanthropy, but every now and then there's a story that stands out in opposition to that.

As someone who is about to have their first child in September, I almost couldn't handle reading that article.

So happy for that family that they can have a beautiful photo of their daughter.

Damn, the feels man, the feels...
I recently became

Seeing your newborn in the NICU is brutal
Greg from LI : 7/18/2014 11:01 am : link
My daughter was in it for two weeks when she was born. The first time I went in there and saw her with all those tubes, I just fell to pieces. I can't imagine how much worse it must have been for this guy.
I can't imagine being in that father's shoes

I'm looking at those pictures and tearing up. What a beautiful little girl she was.
Gutwrenching

Touching, but just heartbreaking to read and see.
So sad

poor little darling. I can't begin to imagine that father's pain. I don't want to. The thought of my little guy in that situation is almost too much to bare.
As a dad how can your heart not break for this guy
steve in ky : 7/18/2014 11:34 am : link

same here, Greg. my son was in the NICU for three days after he was born and it was probably the hardest time of my entire life.

very nice gesture by those who touched up the photos. nice to see the internet can actually brighten someone's day on occasion.

I always love seeing humanity in the corners of existence you didn't know existed.

Good story Greg.

Those of us dads with healthy kids should say (or at least think) a small prayer of thanks daily that we have them, healthy, in our lives.

Cannot imagine the grief of losing a child.
