NFT: The Trials of Graham Spanier

Pego61 : 7/18/2014 1:47 pm
Interesting article in the NYT about Graham Spanier, former President of Penn State.

While there isn't much debate about whether Spanier could have done more during the Sandusky affair (he could have), does it really rise to the level of criminal liability? What is his duty of care to the children that he may have been alerted to?

to a thousand times greater degree, I don't see putting him in prison. Losing his job and prestige was probably sufficient. I am not against seeing him on trial before a suspended sentence, however. He fucked up, and it hurt many lives permanently.

When this stuff comes up, I cannot help but be drawn to the really awful behavior of religious leader who are still honored and practically worshiped. One, in particular, who considers himself an expert on other people's morality took $56 million and hid it in a cemetery trust fund so that victims couldn't get a piece of it.
