Your Questions Answered (players report for camp)

Connor_Hughes : 7/18/2014 5:40 pm
Well, now things get interesting.

On Monday the New York Giants will report to East Rutherford for training camp. While no practice will be held, media are permitted to attend. Tom Coughlin and select players will be made available.

While the list of available players is not yet known, we'd like to give you a chance to get your questions answered. This worked very well throughout the offseason and will continue through camp.

Please either email or message below any questions you would like answered. Monday afternoon, we'll have a recap and your questions answered.

Also, please include any questions you want answered or things you want observed from the first on-field practice Tuesday.
Injury status

Projected availability for Wilson, Jerry, Beatty, Beason, and Snee.
Here are a few...
Big Blue Blogger : 7/18/2014 6:30 pm : link
For J.Williams:
Are there any packages where you don't expect to run with the 1s? (Short yardage/goal line seems likely. Any others?)

For A.Williams:
What did the coaches have you work on during the break? Anything special to improve your catching skills?

For R.Jennings:
Is your preparation for camp any different, knowing that you will be carrying a much heavier workload than in Jacksonville or Oakland?

For T.Holliday:
What have you been doing to improve ball security? Can you fix that without losing your aggressive style? Is there a role for you on offense?

For J.Beason:
HOW'S THE FOOT???

For R.Nassib:
What's different for you this year? Does the new offense fit your skill set better?
Players to watch
Reale01 : 7/18/2014 6:39 pm : link
Jernigan, Randall, OBJ - Can two of them step up to join Cruz?

Will one of the TEs step up? Robinson?

Cooper Taylor, Stevie Brown, Demps who looks good?

Will Paysinger, Kennard, Fox, or Williams have an impact at LB this year?

Moore, Kiwi, Ayers can they have an impact?

How does Will Beatty look? Also Jerry, Richburg, Walton?

IMO We need several of the players above to take a step forward.

Reb8thVA : 7/18/2014 8:03 pm : link
With Justin Tuck, Osi, and Linval gone are you ready to step up and be the man on the DL?
For Moore
Jay in Toronto : 7/18/2014 8:10 pm : link
what did you focus on since the end of the season in order to challenge for an earn more playing time?
For Wilson ….
Manny in CA : 7/18/2014 8:12 pm : link
You've stated that you hurt your neck in college. Did the Giants ask you about it before the draft ?

For JPP -

Was surgery ever an option for your injured shoulder. If so, why did you decide against it ?
I would love for Connor

to learn how to label threads so that we know if there is information in them or a request for questions.
I would like….
Ed A. : 7/18/2014 9:13 pm : link
to ask Moore if he added some weight this off season and what he weighs now?
Not to be a dick...
Jim in Tampa : 7/18/2014 9:31 pm : link
Because I appreciate Connor's reports...but I agree with Randy.

It's not this first time Connor had written a thread title that sounds like he's supplying info (Your Questions Answered) when he's actually ASKING us to submit questions.

Might I suggest a more appropriate thread title like "Submit Your Questions for The Players".

"Your QUestions for The Players" will be the name of the answer thread
Not to start

An argument but how can some of you complain about this thread. I mean seriously, this man is doing all of us a favor by letting us Get our questions answered and you have people whining about the thread title. Amazing.
Agree with Louied
JFIB : 7/19/2014 8:16 am : link
Conner does so much for the site, and provides so much content during the barren wasteland known as the off season. We're you so disappointed upon opening the thread that you had to complain? Give him a break and just say thanks!
Not Complaining, Just Trying To Offer A Helpful Suggestion...

(As I'm sure Randy was.)
As you've done before
BillT : 7/19/2014 8:38 am : link
Thorough reporting on who's running with the one's, two's especially at the contested positions like RG, LDE, DT, WR and your insight into where you think those competitions are going. Also, some feel from you on the PK competition. Maybe the reporting weights for some of the younger guys like, Moore, Kuhn, Mosley, Bromley. Some info on Snee and whether his elbow has allowed him to prepare as well as he'd would have liked. Thanks for being on board. It's great.
Its too early to think about 1s and 2s
Arkbach : 7/19/2014 10:53 am : link
They won't even be hitting for a few days yet so it's impossible to gauge much accept who looks healthy. I'll also be curious about the degree of mental errors adapting to the new offense and assimilating an above average number of new players.

Ask Wilson if he realizes every team knows of his tendency to fumble and will be standing him up to strip the ball. What's he going to do differently and will the Giants have any drills designed for him to simulate stripping.
New to corner forum
Connor_Hughes : 7/19/2014 1:35 pm : link
I'm new to the corner forum and not accustomed much to how things normally go around here.

How would you like labeled? I'll be sure to make adjustment for next time.

With that being said, if the biggest complaint is how my posts are titled...I'll take it
Looks like the first day of camp will be like the last day of OTAs
Marty in Albany : 7/19/2014 3:33 pm : link
TC & McAdoo when asked about player development and about player health are going to say, that they are "excited," the Giants' favorite adjective, and that they are hopeful and/or optimistic, (but not "content").

The players will be the usual suspects. Eli, & Rolle, certainly. The only veteran players who will speak will be healthy ones, or those (like David Wilson, hopefully) with good news: "I'm ahead of schedule" or "I am healthy enough to start training camp."

There will also be the draftees speaking. I'm certain that Beckham will say that he is ready to go full speed in camp. (But I bet he doesn't.)
Another helpful (?) suggestion for Connor.
Blackbeard : 7/19/2014 3:51 pm : link
If I were asking the players some of the above questions I would duck immediately after asking.
yeah shame on Conner
bc4life : 7/19/2014 6:50 pm : link
if you click on a thread mistakenly. It's just so friggin hard to use to mouse to click out of it.

Question: For Charles Brown - Why do you think you struggled with your last team? And, what has the coaching staff here done to change your technique?
For Andre Williams
pganut : 7/20/2014 8:21 am : link
If one of the publicized knocks on your game is lack of receiving skills, at this stage in your athletic development and career, what do you do in order to become a better pass catcher (something important to this offense)? What exercises/techniques have the Giants been working with you on?

I don't like your ties or your shoes.

Maybe a new 'do is in order as well.

Other than that and your breath, you're okay.

Great stuff, but the title
JohnF : 7/20/2014 12:14 pm : link
does sound like something from Patrick McGoohan's "The Prisoner". For example:

Quote:
“Questions are a burden to others; answers a prison for oneself.”
--A sign from the Labour Exchange; Arrival

Of course, this is BBI, you know:

Quote:
Chairman: “We deplore your spirit of disharmony.”
No.6: “That's a common complaint around here, isn't it?”
--A Change of Mind

Finally, here's a classic exchange that anyone that has interviewed..or been interviewed...can appreciate:

Quote:

Reporter: How will you handle your campaign?
Number Six: No comment.
Reporter: "Intends to fight for freedom at all costs."

Reporter: How about your internal policy?
Number Six: No comment.
Reporter: "Will tighten up on Village security."

Reporter: What about your external policy?
Number Six: No comment.
Reporter: "Our exports will operate in every corner of the globe."

Reporter:How do you feel about life and death?
Number Six: Mind your own business.
Reporter: "No comment."

Question for Bromley
bc4life : 7/20/2014 5:53 pm : link
Joey thinks you are fat and soft and would like to challenge you to a fight. What is your availability for said bout?
Thanks Connor for the thread...
Jimmy Googs : 7/20/2014 7:34 pm : link
The usual BBI morons criticize ad nauseum, but many here clearly appreciate your time and efforts.

Please follow up on who is expected to start opposite Randle at the beginning of preseason games. Will Cruz move outside and then have Jernigan in the slot, or can Beckum be expected to start immediately on the outside?

Thanks again.
Connor: Any sighting of Conner or Hynoski
Bobby Epps : 7/22/2014 2:30 pm : link
in any formations or plays?
