Chris Snee Appreciation Thread

dep026 : 7/20/2014 9:32 pm
if all accounts are true, Chris Snee is retiring tomorrow (being reported by ESPN.)

Let me be the first to say thank you Chris for 10 years of just fantastic play.
Great Giant
MookGiants : 7/20/2014 9:34 pm : link
wish it didn't end like this, but for about 7 years he was rock solid and an all-pro caliber guard. Best wishes in the future and thank you for kicking ass for a long stretch
Thanks, Chris

Thanks for all the great memories, Chris! We will miss you.

and now I wish I voted for you for Giant of the Year.
Heck of a player

Beast in his prime. Best of luck in your future endeavors big fella
I wouldn't say the career ended on a sour note
jcn56 : 7/20/2014 9:50 pm : link
just that it didn't last as long as it should have. Regardless, his tenure included 2 championships that he was an integral part of, and he'll always be remembered as the mauling guard he was in his prime. Best of luck to CS in his post-football endeavors.
As a 23-year old Giant fan
SamdaGiantsFan : 7/20/2014 9:55 pm : link
Snee is the first truly great Giant in which I have witnessed his whole career. I will never forget that great line of McKenzie-Snee-O'Hara-Seubert-Deihl. They really dominated, obviously extremely important to our team's success. Can you believe that was five or six years ago? Joked around a bit with him at training camp last year and he was such a class act. Tough way to go out, but a GREAT Giant.

Brandon Mosley, time to rise up...
Sad to see him go...

There were plenty of times that if you

If he wants it, little doubt he'd be a great coach.

Thanks for your play here Mr. Snee.

and the easiest type of player to cheer for.

I do wonder how many of his injuries could be attributed to over-training. The guy was an animal in the weight room & one of the NFL's strongest players, but a lot of those injuries that popped up over the years were right in line with the type of things that end up nagging power lifters.
Congratulations on a great career.

Snee was a tremendous player for us over his career. From 2004 to 2010 or so, he was consistently one of the Top 5 or so Guards in the game. He was the OL MVP on this team for years and formed one of the best OL interiors in the game with O'Hara and Seubert.

The 2008 OL unit was an absolute joy to watch and Snee was clearly the best player on that unit. We had one of the prettiest running games in the NFL for the first 5 or so years of Snee's career and he was a huge reason why.

He clearly lost a step or two due to injuries these past couple of years, but that's just what happens to OLineman after all the wear and tear. It still absolutely sucks to see him go.

If Eli and Coughlin are the most valuable Giants of the past 10 years, Snee is 3rd or 4th along with Justin Tuck. Great Giant who will be missed.
Definitely on the short list of my favorite Giants.

part of a great offensive line, and 2 time Champion. So many guys sort of bounce around end of their career, taking smaller and smaller roles. Glad to see Chris go out in one clean break.

And as Giants fans, we moved past it quick, and kind of rolled our eyes when it would be bought up on national broadcasts, but it could not have been easy, especially early on, to have your Father-In-Law as your Head Coach.

Great Giant. He will be missed.
Some days are more memorable than others.
Red Dog : 7/21/2014 8:59 pm : link
I will always remember the day the GIANTS drafted Chris Snee because I thought it was an absolutely terrific selection as soon as they made it.

And I will always remember the day he officially hung it up.

Football is a bit like life and death. At some point, a player is born into the game, but eventually the player is separated from it, and it usually isn't a voluntary separation.

Some accomplish more than others while they are in it. Chris Snee wrote a chapter in GIANTS history that will be long remembered. Two Super Bowl wins, an All-Pro selection, and three Pro Bowls is a pretty darn nice career for the guy from a small town in northern Pennsylvania. Needless to say, his name will be added to the Ring of Honor at some point down the road.

But for right now, let us set aside the sadness of this day that inevitably had to come and savor the memory of one of the very best offensive linemen to ever wear GIANTS blue.

And Chris, all the best to you and your family. You won't be soon forgotten.
Thanks

with the Giants and always seemed to give your all. Your strength and leadership will no doubt be missed, but you have earned your well-deserved retirement. Thank you for all you have given and for your contributions to the two Super Bowl trophies we achieved during your career. I hope you come back some day as a OL coach when the time is right as I think you'd be great at it, but if that is not in your future I wish you and your family nothing but the best! Good luck to you!
