Chris Snee - another of my all time favourite Giants...
MikeN in Ottawa : 7/21/2014 10:48 am : link
great player, great teammate, solid citizen on and off the field. Like DD, made watching the Giants over the last ten years an absolute pleasure. Starter from day one.

Issue with TC being his father-in-law could have been a problem and never was.

Sad day for Chris and probably for Tom as well.

"This one hurts...... U always have guys that come to fight with you on the gridiron but very rarely do u find a guy who FIGHTS 100% of the time no matter how he feels. This guy gave the team his all. I begged him to come back and give me one more year. He tried but I guess it's time for him to leave the game. I can respect that. FIRST CLASS GUY ALL THE WAY AROUND. #offandonswitch #mybrother #nygfamilyforlife"

Snee was a tremendous player for us over his career. From 2004 to 2010 or so, he was consistently one of the Top 5 or so Guards in the game. He was the OL MVP on this team for years and formed one of the best OL interiors in the game with O'Hara and Seubert.

The 2008 OL unit was an absolute joy to watch and Snee was clearly the best player on that unit. We had one of the prettiest running games in the NFL for the first 5 or so years of Snee's career and he was a huge reason why.

He clearly lost a step or two due to injuries these past couple of years, but that's just what happens to OLineman after all the wear and tear. It still absolutely sucks to see him go.

If Eli and Coughlin are the most valuable Giants of the past 10 years, Snee is 3rd or 4th along with Justin Tuck. Great Giant who will be missed.
Definitely on the short list of my favorite Giants.
bceagle05 : 7/21/2014 12:16 pm : link
Absolute steal of a second round pick. Multiple Pro Bowls, multiple All-Pros, and, most importantly, multiple championship rings. First class guy on and off the field. You can tell being a Giant means a great deal to him, and I'm sure he'll be close to the organization for the rest of his life.
Thanks for everything to contributed to the Giants
ZogZerg : 7/21/2014 12:16 pm : link

One of the the all time Giants, and a major reason why the Giants won two more Lombardi's. With better health, I'm sure he would have landed in Canton. My favorite OL ever.
terrific draft pick....
BillKo : 7/21/2014 1:15 pm : link
two rings, one of the best OL's during his time in the NFL, which made us one of the most entertaining offenses.

Hope his health remains good, that's most important now!!

Thanks CS!!!!!
I believe

that Chris Snee gave us his best effort every time he took the field. For that reason, he's the kind of guy I want on my team. The fact that he was a mauler for periods in his career make him even more valuable in my eyes.

Good luck Chris in whatever the future holds for you.
Snee gave it his all and helped us

without all the hype that happens around you.

You slugged it out with the best Defensive players. You are greatly responsible for the Championships.
Awesome, awesome career Chris!!!

The kind of player that makes you damn proud to be a Giants fan. Been a pleasure to watch this guy play football for the last decade.

Cherish your rings and your memories, and enjoy your post-football life with your family.

And just for fun, show up a few minutes late to Thanksgiving dinner this year, just to poke fun at your father-in-law!!
Good luck and good health Chris

road grader with a mean streak. Kept his head down, his mouth shut, always did his job and never embarrassed his family, the fans, the organization or the game.

What's not to love as a fan?

Thank you, Chris Snee and best of luck going forward.
All the best Chris...A True Giant.

Very sad day

I was very happy when the Giants drafted you. A tough excellent interior lineman was exactly what the Giants needed at the time. You fit the bill perfectly. Thank you for all the hard work and superior play. Thank you for all the victories. But, most of all, thank you for being a Giant.

Best of luck in all of your future endeavors.
Knew this day was coming
bc4life : 7/21/2014 3:13 pm : link
Watched him play at his best and it would have been sad to watch him try to play at a lower level. I'm, glad he gave it one last try and went out on his own terms.

One of the best ever at his position, strong, tough, agile, team player, great technician, and outstanding competitor.

All the best and hoping much success to him and his family in his post Giant career.
Many thanks, Warrior

albeit inevitable.

Chris is from northeastern PA, Montrose in Susquehanna county. I'm from Wayne county, bordering on the east. As such, he was a little more special to me than the rest of the players. Sorry to see him go, but he gave us his all for 10 great years.

Chris, thank you and best of luck with the rest of your life.
Thank You So Much Chris

Great player
TheNeumann64 : 7/21/2014 7:05 pm : link
part of a great offensive line, and 2 time Champion. So many guys sort of bounce around end of their career, taking smaller and smaller roles. Glad to see Chris go out in one clean break.

And as Giants fans, we moved past it quick, and kind of rolled our eyes when it would be bought up on national broadcasts, but it could not have been easy, especially early on, to have your Father-In-Law as your Head Coach.

Great Giant. He will be missed.
Some days are more memorable than others.
Red Dog : 7/21/2014 8:59 pm : link
I will always remember the day the GIANTS drafted Chris Snee because I thought it was an absolutely terrific selection as soon as they made it.

And I will always remember the day he officially hung it up.

Football is a bit like life and death. At some point, a player is born into the game, but eventually the player is separated from it, and it usually isn't a voluntary separation.

Some accomplish more than others while they are in it. Chris Snee wrote a chapter in GIANTS history that will be long remembered. Two Super Bowl wins, an All-Pro selection, and three Pro Bowls is a pretty darn nice career for the guy from a small town in northern Pennsylvania. Needless to say, his name will be added to the Ring of Honor at some point down the road.

But for right now, let us set aside the sadness of this day that inevitably had to come and savor the memory of one of the very best offensive linemen to ever wear GIANTS blue.

And Chris, all the best to you and your family. You won't be soon forgotten.
Thanks
