...that makes a lot of sense. DL's hand use often separates the contenders from the pretenders. Hankins' striving to get better and taking nothing for granted is very good to see.
might be more beneficial than boxing for hand-fighting, but I'm not an expert. Wonder which one is most applicable to line play- boxing, Aikido, jiu-jitsu...?

Only so much time in a day, and boxing can be deduced down to basic form enough so where you can still benefit from the increased had speed + footwork. I think its a great idea, personally.
Wrestling taught me how to stay low. Wrestling is basically the same technique as the defensive line. You have to stay low and use your hands. I mainly wrestled to stay in shape during the off-season. I was originally an offensive lineman in high school, but as soon as the football coaches saw how aggressive I was when I wrestled, they moved me over to defense.

Hoping for a relatively healthy season for the team for once

Problem for a guy like Hankins is Jess huge and there just aren't a ton of training partners. Also to just train for those things it's not easy.
It's not uncommon for college coaches to like wrestlers for the DL when recruiting as it's a great skill to have.
Manh. George that sh&t was hysterical!!!!!
