has been interpreted by some as maintaining some sort of ownership. On the contrary, anybody on a practice squad can be picked up by any team willing to pay his desired salary.

If they were THAT good, they would have made the starting squad. So they are there on the PS presumably without a ton of tape for other teams to see your stashed gem. You put a player there though, be prepared to lose them.
It's a very amatuer term that people on here use all the time
verb: stash; 3rd person present: stashes; past tense: stashed; past participle: stashed; gerund or present participle: stashing
1.
store (something) safely and secretly in a specified place.
"their wealth had been stashed away in Swiss banks"
synonyms: store, stow, pack, load, cache, hide, conceal, secrete; More
That is not what the practice squad does, the practice squad is wide open for anyone to take what/who they want ...if there is some they feel is worth taking
reasonable people know what someone means when they use the phrase. They mean the Giants have a young, raw, player, who they like, but not enough to keep on the 53-man roster.
Ideally they want to continue to develop the player for future years (or even later in the current year).
Most people understand this and don't get worked up over the choice of words.
Other people who are over-analytical about everything do get worked up over this choice of words.
is if a team wants to snag a guy from your PS, the original teams gets a 24 hour window where they must decide to put the player on their 53 man roster now or let him go to the "new" team.
As it stands, I don't believe the team has any right to keep that player (unless the player refuses to go to the "new" team).
Practice squad players are free agents. They aren't on perpetual waivers. They can offer their services competitively to the highest bidder, including the team they are currently with.
In other words, the only reason Team 1 wouldn't get a chance...
Is happening less and less. With the expanded squads, why would you take a player from another team who knows nothing about your scheme when you probably have someone on your PS who dies. That being said it can still happen.
not from their PS to your PS (directly at least).

Be careful what you stash.

The regular season main roster and practice squad is the same as it always has been
