“I will say this. There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce very soon that I’m going to play, and I’ll just say this: This character has the power of Superman, he can throw down. Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say.” |
I think you can argue at this point (unless I'm missing a very obvious one) he is the most successful wrestler to cross over into mainstream entertainment ever. Hulk Hogan was more famous, but it was still for his WWF exploits. He never had the success outside the ring that The Rock is having (and I still call think of him as "The Rock.")
For a high-level swerve, it might be Cyborg from new52.
He's doing nicely for himself.
The Sixth Sense was filmed over 15-16 years ago. That little kid in the movie, Haley Joel Osment is now 26.
Oh why he got to be black, huh? Ever since they posted that article about the lack of top-rank black WWE stars people been pointing out how black the man is

he was in the WWF, I always thought he would make a perfect action hero / superhero. I'm glad he was able to get past perhaps the many opinions that viewed him as just a wrestler and not capable of crossing over into mainstream acting.

It's probably because The Rock is actually a pretty good actor and, he's avoided garbage like 'Thunder In Paradise'
(Yeah, I saw that movie and watched the series. Dont judge me)
Totally agree Dan, I think Terry is amazing in his "Hulk Hogan" character. Unfortuately for him, that's the only role he can pull off and he was that same way in all his movies which in the end wears very thin on not only on his wrestling fans but also the general public.
Yeah I agree, he was good in Pain and Gain
Agreed.
