tickets and told me about this. I was debating him that their MO for this was to sell more season tickets but he just thought they were doing something cool and nice for season ticket holders. Is it just me or was he being utterly oblivious?

I can't imagine that these rewards will be material enough to induce anyone to buy season tickets. Maybe it'll generate a little concession revenue by getting people to come earlier or come to pre-season games, but I'd be very surprised if whatever you get is enough to change anyone's behavior very much. To me it seems like a fan appreciation gesture that's cheap for the team and not worth very much to fans.
They have done away with paper tickets and have given them cards that will be scanned for entry into MetLife Stadium.
Asking the fans to give the Jets players support by being loud seems okay enough. Asking the fans to disrupt the visiting team players is not something that a team should put in print.
How about the Jets holding a "Mirror Day" and shining them in the visiting players' eyes? In principle it is kinda the same as preventing the team from hearing the QB's signals. If the Jets players are not allowed to do it, the fans should not be TOLD that it is okay for them to do it.
Sorry I'm such a fuddy-duddy. And Yes, I yell as loud as I can at Giants games, but I know that I am trying to disrupt the opponent and not encourage the Giants. I do it because I'm a fan, not because I think that it is fair play.
Do players waive their hands in the air before a big down because they
Want to boost their egos? They do if so the crowd gets loud and disrupts the other team. Scoreboards tell the crowd to get load at big points to disrupt the other team. I see no problem with them putting it in print when everyone does it anyways
I guess they are trying to give incentives to their fans to attend meaningless games.

Isn't that every Jets game?
