NGT: 1st round of 2009 draft keeps getting worse

News today that Larry English of the chargers is finally cut.

Take a look at this first round, featuring such luminaries as Darrius Heyward-Bey, Aaron Maybin, Aaron Curry, Jason Smith, Mark Sanchez, Josh Freeman, Donald Brown, Knowshon Moreno

it was actually a pretty good draft for offensive linemen but yeah weaksauce for 1st round skill position players

At first I thought Alex Mack, buts its tough to justify taking a center first overall.

He did not live up to his draft hype but he was the best RB on that team last year and one of the best in the league on a team that went to the superbowl

better than a lot of those players you named

He was the 12th overall pick in the draft. He's not, it turns out, a first-round caliber player.

In addition to Raji, Matthews and Lang, they picked guys who were good enough to hang around the League for years: Meredith, Wynn, Underwood...

...and Quinn Johnson, who hasn't played much...
