This does suck, but it is also an opportunity for Jernigan, Manningham, and Randle. Just be happy we have 5 preseason games this year...strange to say that.
The only thing that heals a hammy is rest, strengthening, and more rest. If it is just a "tweak" I hope they shut him down for the rest of the week at least. If you don't let this heal it will reappear at the worst time.
I have a bad feeling that this will always be the story with this guy
Not that I hated the pick, but I disagreed with it and I have just had this feeling that Beckham will be one of those constantly injured players (and always on the stationary bike).
And people are already going to who's going to replace his production (which we have no idea about anyways) with other guys on the roster? Holy Shit...

And what did you base that off of? Just a gut feeling? He wasn't injury prone in college.
lets just write off his rookie season as a lost year now
stretch?!?!?!?! They should have mandatory Yoga before each practice!
I wrote an article las year about problems caused by a deficiency od copper in one's diet ... at one point with all the copper piping ... people got all the copper they needed accidentally through water leaching small amounts of copper ... The EPA back some 20 years ago put a rule in effect that required lowering the copper levels at the tap through the addition of some chemicals like zinc and phosphorous ... so this accidental source of a needed mineral was now gone ...
A major problem with copper deficiency is connective tissue disorders ... most of the work here was done on animals where copper is routinely added as a mineral into their diets to prevent that ... One never sees a cow with a torn acl or the like :-) ...
I wonder if this rash of connective tissue injuries versus 20 years ago is due to that ... I don't think anyone ever gets a blood test to see if copper levels are normal or deficient as historically it's never been a problem and no one has ever seen a need for it ...
Athletes who put more stress on these tissues might be more prone towards these ligament weaknesses causing problems there or by extension to the muscular skeletal areas ...
I'm waiting to hear Beckham say: I could play if the game was tomorrow
But I don't think it's the norm for this to happen every.....single.....goddamned year. Once in a while, you'd think the Giants would have some injury luck. Teams DO have good luck with injuries sometimes, you know?
The offense is allegedly simpler, so while this sucks, maybe it won't
...but I'm worried it could derail his rookie season if they don't get a handle on it. He had a month to rest it and then right away he tweaks it again. Not a good sign that this will be easily treatable.
it's not an acl. Perspective... Beason's injury could have been a disaster, looks like he's on target to play by the season opener. Guys who could have been questionable to even participate in camp, namely our LT, a possible 3rd or 4th wideout in Manningham and possibly the starting RG are all participating in camp, even if limited. It seems to me the injury situation might be starting out more favorable than originally thought.
that this is an annual occurrence for the Giants? I just don't get how world class athletes become so fragile the minute they become professionals. And all of this while they are playing 2 hand touch.
that WR wasn't a tremendous need in the draft is beyond my comprehension. You would literally have had to not watch the team play last season or in 2012.
Tweaking his hamstring makes Beckham a bad pick? I don't follow you.
I know they don't always play the same position but I bet we see Randle, Cruz and JJ as our top 3 when the season starts.

You can almost see the ESPN screen shot now for Game 1 that lists 15 injured players for the Giants, and 3 for Detroit.
He'll fall behind, but no where near as much... maybe?
Regardless, I still wish the Giants would've taken Zach Martin. More of a need then, and even moreso now with Snee retiring.
We'll get through this.
Eli's got this?
normally I agree, but not with what has been going on with injuries for what seems like a decade here.
No other way to explain it.

QBs throwing to WR/TE/RB... Beckham doesn't run routes. Just walks from one side to the other. #Giants #BBI
