only a mental midget would take over Wiggins, never mind the pick and Bennett included.
Teams like the Timberwolves can only win big if they hit the jackpot with a young cost controlled player. Wiggins is exactly the type of player they need, he may not be a star but he is the only one who has star potential of those players and he's much younger than any of them. Gibson is 29, he's not a young guy anymore.

Nikola Mirotic is not a part of the KLove offer. Our source close to Niko has just informed us he will not be traded.
if you were running a team would you take Gibson, Mirotic and McDermott straight up for just Wiggins, let alone Love? And the fact that it's been reported they're looking to attach Martin to any offer tells me the Wolves aren't ruling out a rebuild.
no, I wouldn't. Not on a team like the TWolves whose only chance to win big is to hit the jackpot with a player. You need a franchise player to even have a shot on teams like the Wolves, not complimentary players. The only thing those type of players do is make sure you arent bad enough to have a top pick and not good enough to make the playoffs.
You go for the gold with Wiggins. Not even a debate imo. But that's why they're the TWolves and thats why they always suck. Same organization who took johnny flynn and ricky rubio back to back and not Stephen Curry

I think taking the Wiggins package makes more sense, but you're throwing some hyperbole out here. You can make a rational argument that Minn (i) does not want to tank and go through another rebuild, (ii) thinks Bennett is a bust and isn't interested in him, and (iii) thinks they were very unlucky last year and thinks that the team can be competitive in 2014 with the Chicago package.
Personally, I'd gamble on Wiggins upside, but it's hard to kill a team for getting 3 nice assets in return for Love.
This Mirotic hype is absolutely ridiculous. He's definitely got potential and I'm not going to call him overrated because I have no idea if he is or not. But all this Mirotic talk has really been incredible and I can't wait to see him in the NBA.
they aren't winning anything with that roster if they made a trade like that. Its not even getting them into the playoffs. If they believe they can be a playoff team with that roster they need their heads examined. They aren't in the eastern conference. The worst position to be in is exactly where they would be making a trade like that.
Personally I think Wiggins is overrated. He's a great athlete but I don't see the skill level that other great athletes who turned into great players had at the same age.
last year didn't even sniff the playoffs with Kevin Love. They were 10 games out.
So they are going to trade Kevin Love, get back Gibson who is another insanely overrated player and he's 29, and then get McDermott and Mirotic and all of a sudden be a playoff team in the west? No freakin way.
to force the Cavs to include Wiggins in their offer. Minny would be idiots for taking the Bulls offer over an offer that included Wiggins. But the Bulls offer is far superior to any non-Wiggins offer the Cavs can make. So I feel like this is just a nothing story since we already knew Wiggins would likely have to be included from the Cavs anyway.
I've seen of Mirotic he's not a Dirk level talent. That's the kind of talent it takes to get someone like Kevin Love. Love was 3rd in the NBA in PER last year, trailing only LeBron and Durant. He was not the reason the Wolves didn't make the playoffs.
Now... I don't think Love is the 3rd best player in the NBA, but he's extremely efficient and much better than some give him credit for being.
with the Warriors offer is in 2 years Klay Thompson is a FA
true but you're only getting 3 years of Mirotic under team control. And at least you already know Klay is one of the better 2-way guards in the league.
Love vs. Griffin and Love vs. Melo? Just wondering because you've been a huge Love fan for a while.
I think they're probably comparable across the board, actually. Melo is the better scorer of the three and will continue to be, but Love is the better rebounder. Blake is the best of both worlds.
I'd choose Griffin, though, because he's a year younger than Love and he plays with the best PG in the world.
How do we know what offers are on the table? I have heard conflicting reports about Wiggins. I've read that Wiggins is available. I've read that he isn't. I've read that he is and the Wolves want picks. Now 16 is saying they want Wiggins, picks and to dump salary. We have no idea whats available, but the offer by the Bulls isn't completely unreasonable if Wiggins is not available and they run the risk of losing Love for nothing.
Griffin over Love too. I like them both but I just prefer Blake's offensive style a little more. Melo vs. Love is tougher for me. I'd go Love there just because of age but I also prefer Melo's offensive style a little more.
Love is a hell of a player though. I think his D and durability hold him back a little but he's a baller. I just prefer my Bigs to play strong defense. But he's def a top 10 player in the game, arguably Top 5 this past year.

So then why give up anything of value? Just wait it out until Love says he's definitely leaving and then give them as little as possible to get the deal done. The onus is on the teams trading for Love, not the Wolves. The Wolves would probably be perfectly fine letting him walk for nothing if they don't get an offer they like.

That's a good point, but you have to try and get as close to it as possible. The Bulls offer isn't even the best offer on the table, IMO.

When there are multiple teams in a bidding war for said player, which wasn't the case with Melo or Williams.
