Our offense is going to burn warm for about two games and then we are going to set on fire. This hasn't been said much here and rightfully so. We are installing a new offense and we have umpteen new players however I really think cruz, randle, wilson, and especially manning could all heat up quick in this style of play. Manning does very well in uptempo face paced football...
It takes a long time for the O-Line to gel. Snee was on the line initially with Seubert, McKensie, O'Hara, and Diehl. That line took a while to gel and when it did, we kicked ass and eventually won the Super Bowl.
It will take us a while to gel. Maybe a whole season, and worse, what about the health of everyone on the line to become consistent? Already an issue with Beatty.
I am glad you are an optimist. I'm a realist and it will take time for the O-Line to become a cohesive unit. Then we can kick ass.
I'm more excited for this season than I usually am, mostly because of all the new pieces and the new system.
it will ALL come done to how the OL performs if they can pull another 2007 offseason when they retooled the OL with ohara, mckenzie and suebert then this team could win it all again
Yes, third and long....but also 3rd and short....it got to the point where on third and short, we were heaving the ball 20 yards down field......this line has to get it's nasty on, and convert 3rd and short on a consistent basis....this will take some pressure off Eli and make play calling much simpler.....
This OL will be a work in process....we can only hope that they learn from their mistakes, and progress as a unit, week to week.......an OL is not plug and play.....each man has a responsibility, but it also has to react, as a unit, to what the defense throws at them....to think this happens 2 games into the season is wishful thinking....the pieces are there, but whether they mesh is another story.....
they, and eli, need time,
