ridiculous good or ridiculous bad? because it used to be $300 or $400...I can't get direct TV but got the internet version. it sucked more than it was good for me last year, but I might be stupid enough to do it again if I can get it for like $50.
But no further, so I cut it loose. Didn't want to bluff with total disconnection, because I'm not paying the termination fee and I didn't feel like looking like an idiot by saying at the last moment "You know what, never mind, I'll keep DTV but without the Ticket"
RE: The Filthy's got Game Pass this year for $129.99, Â
I've been enjoying sweet, sweet HD archives of our losses last year every night!
But speaking of Euro, the NFL does think I'm in another country, which is how I was able to get it at that price, or at all since it isn't offered in the states.
I called to cancel. No BS, I was cancelling DirecTV.
I have FiOS in my house too because a) my company pays and b) the triple play from Verizozn (phone, internet, and TV) was cheaper than just phone and internet...but I only have FiOS on one TV, the other 3 have DTV.
I was done with DTV, the bill is high, they nickel and dime you for every piece of hardware and add on fees for HD and Sunday Ticket was out of control.
I called and the first couple people transferred me, "can't change your mind?" "Sorry" and I got to the retention dept and I have 1 year left on my contract so they told me i had to pay $240 to cancel, I said I'll make that back with FiOS in two months, please process my cancellation.
So, finally she came back with free Sunday Ticket and $50 off my bill every month for a year and a couple $5 and $10 credits per month (My DTV bill was like $139 per month I want to say, so they got it well under $100 per month)
I told her she saved a customer. For a year at least, I think I will cancel next year.

I knew that, silly.
But it just occurred to me, that when I hit 'submit', your whisper will be amplified and then…
Well, easy enough to solve. Just don't hit...
I called three weeks ago and posted this if it helps Â
I've been with them since '98, always one tv on low tier programming, no extras and never paid more than @$120for Ticket and 2/3 of the years free. This has been getting harder and harder every year: multiple calls/threats to point they were about to pull the plug but always maintaining the relationship in the end. The risk for me has been growing as I'm cheap and I live in philly with little kids trying dearly to do everything I can to raise BigBlue fans but they don't know that :)
So, I'm happy to say this year was easy like the good old days. Essentially I told them I need to keep my cost at $1000/yr, free Ticket(the no frills one-no RZ no mobile), 12month contract and we can stay tight. It is Done.
But now with Thursday night games... We get half the games for free anyways... The Giants are on a lot of the time... And to me... The red zone channel is one of mans greatest inventions. Never miss a score and no commercials. Best 10 bucks a month I can spend.
Been here since 10/80. Before Directv, I had an occasional Giant game on local tv. The sports bars came in 1987. I lived there until I bought a house and applied for Directv and the NFL ticket in 1998. Between beers, food, and tips, AND the risk of a DWI, the Ticket is well worth it. It is one of the few frills I allow myself. If I'm out over a Sunday, I'll record it and watch it Sunday evening. For me.. Its worth its weight in gold.
where they gave me a minimal "early renewal" discount. I forget how much that brought it down to. Just like last year, though, when they claim that that's the best they can do, try the back door method...............where they take $10 a month off HBO (which we already get), another 5-10 off the HD box, etc...........bottom line I got the ticket for $128......certainly not a great deal but this year I only had to waste about 10 minutes or so. Last year I got it for around $100 but it took a ton of calls and we played hard ball with each other until either the 3rd or 4th week of the season (up til then the Jints were on regular TV here).
They clearly have enough people paying for it to justify it. Outside of a circle of us who have figured a way around it, where is the outrage?
I've had it for 11 years. No one is forcing you to pay it. You don't have to order it.
It's $20 a week. Many may waste that at the bar on 3 beers tonight.

Dude, relax. It is my opinion.
Who said it wasn't? At least have a reason why you think that.
did he get an out of country IP?
Pfft. That's for Euro trash. The feed's in black and white and sub-titled. Badly.

I did. I wasn't going to pay 54.99 a month. That's why I think that.
