NFT: Cutting Burgers in Half With a Knife and Fork.

The Colonel : 7/24/2014 2:47 pm
Does anyone else get bothered by this, I mean really bothered about this as much I do when I self-proclaimed man does this?

when ones cuts the burger in half, one releases all of those delicious juices that are so critical to a burger's taste.

Just out of curiosity, does Mayor DeBlasio also cut his burgers with a fork and knife, as is customary ancestrally?

sure are angry people. That's what I learned on BBI this week.
My wife does it.
superspynyg : 7/24/2014 2:48 pm : link
Does not bother me at all.
I think we can safely assume Mayor Bill does in fact knife and fork

And 95% of the time I eat a burger with a fried egg...cutting it in half breaks the yolk...it runs all over...l

Love it
one serious thing I do not get about burgers is why the lettuce
chris r : 7/24/2014 2:53 pm : link
is on the top. It should be on the bottom to protect the bun from the burgers juices.

Runny yolk on a burger is right up there with runny yolk on a pork roll sandwich. I jumped on board with it about 6 months ago and wish I hadn't waited so long.
I cut every burger I eat in half

Do it all the time....
kinard : 7/24/2014 2:57 pm : link
Learned it as a kid from going to Friendly's. They always cut their burgers in half...

Makes a sloppy burger much more manageable...
I eat burgers
buford : 7/24/2014 2:57 pm : link
without a bun and use a knife and fork.

Can find pork roll GF...but I did find scrapple...

Scrapple and egg on rye toast sandwich...slice of heaven

Not French...but my sister in law is...her Carbonara is great. She uses the raw eggs. Gives it a whole different taste

cut them in quarters that really me.

YAJ2112 : 7/24/2014 3:40 pm : link
what about the square cutters of a round burger? WTF is that shit?
I always cut my burger in half
asbasb : 7/24/2014 4:13 pm : link
much easier to get to the good stuff in the middle and keep a globful (scientific measure?) of condiments from squirting out the backside of the burger

After all these years, I never knew what I was missing.

I had my 1st ever egg (over-easy) on a burger this past Sunday over in Napa. Sublime.

Even better, it was a Kobe-style burger.

(Oh, with truffle/Parmesan fries.)
I guess you read Magary's latest "Funbag" too

Completely ridiculous! Round burgers are bullshit!
You're all philistines
jcn56 : 7/24/2014 4:37 pm : link
A proper burger is to be dissected with a protractor into concentric circles and only dipped in condiments on the norther hemisphere.
I have a real problem with that spikey-haired asshole
Deej : 7/24/2014 4:49 pm : link
on the food network who flips sandwiches before biting into them. Forgetting his name, but the one who got that terrible review for his Times Sq. restaurant.

I cut my burger in half if its fairly large
Jimmy Googs : 7/24/2014 4:58 pm : link
or filled with a lot of toppings. Its just easier to handle.

Besides Colonel - the juices could run out whether you take bite or cut it...
and you guys are just catching up to the fried egg on a burger?
Greg from LI : 7/24/2014 5:00 pm : link
The White Spot in Charlottesville been doing those since WWII.
I think the egg on a burger is pretty common in
Bill in UT : 7/24/2014 5:05 pm : link
Hawaii, also
His last name isn't even Fieri
B in ALB : 7/24/2014 5:05 pm : link
It's Ferry or some bullshit.
I first had an egg on a burger back in 2001
Wuphat : 7/24/2014 5:49 pm : link
when I was stationed in Korea.

Now, when I make them at home, I always include a fried egg.

Spelled Fieri
Bill in UT : 7/24/2014 6:02 pm : link
Pronounced Fiedi. Whatever
or you could let the burger rest before eating it
WeatherMan : 7/24/2014 6:05 pm : link
so the juices don't run out after biting or cutting into it? Just a thought.
Or you could just throw it in a blender
Bige711 : 7/24/2014 7:53 pm : link
and drink it.
lono
G2 : 7/24/2014 8:01 pm : link
please tell me you don't cut and in-n-out double double, or tommy's burger with a knife?
G2
lono801 : 7/24/2014 10:25 pm : link
Lol...No...

If I'm eating either one it's 2 am...no cutting involved. They are going down in seconds...
And after eating Tommy's
