Should be a make or break series! Honestly Im just looking for a split but we can't afford to lose this.
Lets go Mets!
4 games each vs Toronto and Baltimore(2h 2a each)
3@ tampa bay
3 VS Boston (8/28-8/30)
Oh yeah, need to see a nice bounce back start from Mr Gee tonight...
Just posted an article the other day. Basically he has been intentionally walked 10 times to get to the pitcher. Without that his on base percentage isn't good anyway.
TC is a fucking cartoon.

He's probably still rusty and not in sync. Hopefully he doesn't go through a funk like the beginning of last year. Holy shit that was bad.
3 of 4!
How did San Diego almost lose that game when the game was tied? Its not like the Mets were winning when Edgin fell on his fat face.
Agreed. I cant stand that fucking asshole.
just takes the air out of your sails
Hey I'm very critical but credit Sandy, he identified Duda as the guy they preferred. Right move. Well done. #mets
But Ike just needs out of new york and Duda is too passive.
PS love Ron and Keith but they can STFU on a lot of topics.
He has exceeded my expectations.
It's like SS just needs to be average to slightly above average and I'll vastly overrate them after Tejada.
made me dislike Davis similar to tejada.
The only player I disliked irrationally was Justin Turner. No idea why, just hated him. Sounded like the coaches and players really liked him.

Turner was a great team guy.. but a JAG
The 28-year old’s numbers are way down this year (through Monday:
.253/.302/.452/.754, 217-AB, 9-HR, 34-RBI), hampered by a finger injury that placed him on the disabled list.
A major hang-up to any deal with the Mets would be the remaining salary committed to CarGo in his existing contract: $16.429mil/2015, $17.429/mil/2016, $20,429mil/2017, no team option. A considerable portion of this would have to be eaten by Colorado, something they might not have to do if they do a deal with another team.
My contact in the Colorado media says that Troy Tulowitzki is ‘going nowhere’ and, like David Wright, is the face of the franchise, but the Rockies will be sellers this/next week and a Gonzalez deal to the Mets for ‘primarily young pitching’ is ‘doable’.
For the Mets, CarGo would solve the outfield problem until prospects like Michael Conforto and Brandon Nimmo developed.
(This isn’t just the kind of deal a team would consider if they were trying to make the playoffs this year… there are only so many outfielders out there with this kind of talent that become available to other teams.)"
Also Rubin has a blurb today saying Sandy has called the Rockies and informed them he wants to be involved in any Cargo or Tulo deal.
That said he's won a few GG's in LF and would hopefully hit around .300 with 20 hrs. Add him and a capable SS and this lineup's looking a lot better.
In his eleven games at Citi field his average at Citi field is .132 with an OPS of .469
They only have so much surplus pitching. I hope they use it wisely when trading for that missing piece in the IF.
In the case Cargo, when has taking an injury prone player ever worked out for the Mets?
Now I would FL let pick anyone they want for GinCarlo
The only reason I think CarGo could be a fit is because he may not cost the moon and the talent is there and he's also still 28 years old. You're going to get injury concerns with both Tulo and CarGo. I think Tulo will cost considerably more to acquire, though.
He's one of the best in the game, regardless of the #s above. The only reason you'd be hesitant to get him is health and nothing to do with home/road splits.
2- injury concerns. Just a theory of mine, but Rockies players always seem to come with injury concerns. Nagging injuries that cause them to miss a bunch of games a year. My theory - that rarified air. Less oxygen, body takes longer to recover. I don't know if it exists, but I would be very curious to see if a study was ever down on all sports franchise in higher altitudes - do they tend to have more tanning injury issues?
in some cases it might be. but it is a universal excuse and anyone trading for Cargo with the expectation that this is just an off year and he will bounce back completely is chasing fool's gold
Cargo should be strictly a salary dump. At Citi, he is likely a .250/20 HR guy.
Theory de-bunked.
CarGo might not be bad even with a decline in production depending on who they trade. and if COL eats salary.

Cargo had a tumor with tentacles growing in his finger this year. His injury excuse is valid. Last season his numbers were incredible.
He's always banged up, though, so the Mets will need to make sure they have a capable fourth outfielder to back him up for when he gets hurt.
Theory de-bunked.
That's my question, are they? I have no clue.
Turner's been great for the Dodgers. Looks like we kept the wrong shortstop. lol
Cargo would be our current Kevin McReynolds. Boring, great D in LF and consistent 280 25HR 90 R 90 RBI 20 SB. Good player who the fans will always want more from, but looking back will say he was a good player and worth trading for.
But I think this is more damning of Collins. He doesn't know how to use players. He doesn't know how to maximize players strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Those guys aren't foundation players, but valuable "glue" pieces. I haven't checked their WAR, but I'd venture to guess both guys would be top 3-5 Mets this year, and at penny sized contracts.
Granderson 1.2
Duda: 2.0
Tejada: 1.1
Granderson 1.2
Duda: 2.0
Tejada: 1.1
Ouch...
Double ouch
.300/.365/.429
260PA
.235/.358/.292
Except he wouldn't play here since Collins thinks of Tejada like his son.
#FreeWilmer - ( New Window )
He was below average at everything.
and (irrationally; I know) I thought he was a jerk
Great, great article. Thanks for posting that.
im no expert but id put the top 10 as something like this:
Noah Synderguuard
Michael Comforto
Brandon Nimmo
Steven Matz
Kevin Plawecki
Dilson Herrerra
Rafael Montero
Dominic Smith
Gavin Cecchini
Marcos Molina
As for what id be willing to move for Cargo in a trade:
Plawecki
Montero
Flores
Puello
