What say you no looking for something just to use around the house I am not putting up a deck or fence just wanted something versatile enough to put some small finishing nails in some crown molding or fix a plank on my fence if I have to
trim gun and brad gun for years. Their great for all kinds of trim work and no hoses or compressor noise. they are battery pack operated.
I believe paslode has a stick nail gun, but it doesnt work up here in the rockies. I think it was some kind of compressed cartridge, but never used one.
and flooring nails and blah blah blah. You probably will get the most use out of a finishing nailer. I chose Hitachi over Paslode and I use the shit out of it. Although for a homeowner you can buy a small compressor that comes with three small guns for less than $200.
my emglo trimmate is a great little compressor. Its quiet as hell, you can easily have a conversation while standing over it. It can really only handle trim guns, maybe very light framing. Its tank is so small there really is no volume to speak of. It will pump up a tire but takes longer.
Most trim guns(finish nails) can handle from 4d thru 8d nails. Brad guns can usually go from 1/2" to 1-5/8". Finish nails being thicker than brads.
framers usually go from 8d thru 12d.
Then as stated above, roofing guns, coil guns, tico guns. Then of course theres the ever popular palm nailer.
...my house over the last year and used a Ryobi Airstrike.
For the scope f what I was doing it worked fine. Cheap, battery charges really quickly (30 min) and holds it for a good while. Only downside is it's heavy given the battery pack which was a challenge when you're trying to put up a 12' length of crown by yourself.
Some of the DeWalt/Bosch/Senco guns are lighter and a little more ergonomically optimized but a 2-2.5x the cost.

Unless you're doing major construction the extra money you spend on a nail gun is a waste, IMO.
But to each their own, eh?

you get a compressor if you don't already have one and the three guns.
Then you can buy this another time for all of your other needs.
