So, where is Tex??
The Natural : 7/25/2014 6:41 pm : link
Did they DL him??
he's older than his years
RasputinPrime : 7/25/2014 6:46 pm : link
can't believe any GM will ever give a player a long-term deal that will take them past their age 33 season. I'd go 2-3 years at a time for special players after that. Without flintstones vitamins players sure seem to be breaking down fast.
3-0
RasputinPrime : 7/25/2014 7:21 pm : link
frackin Bautista.
I love Jetes...
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 7:54 pm : link
but how fucking slow was that trip down the line? Ten years ago the shortstop doesn't even bother making that throw.
Wow...
Vout-O-Reenie : 7/25/2014 7:56 pm : link
I thought Jeter would be half way down the right field line.
Haha
BigBlueShock : 7/25/2014 7:58 pm : link
I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't believe Reyes was actually gonna throw the ball
bautista, again
wigs in nyc : 7/25/2014 8:05 pm : link
as they said on the broadcast- hes got four hits against kuroda, all dingers
Andujar with his 8th HR...
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 8:06 pm : link
He flies under the radar because his season stats are middling, but he is up over .250 after a 2-2 (so far) night. He is just 19 years old and excelling at Low A, he is a big-time prospect.
Bautista
BigBlueShock : 7/25/2014 8:07 pm : link
had better not see another strike the rest of the night. How difficult is this to figure out?
Ichiro big fly!
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 8:09 pm : link
After Beltran doing more of the same.
Torrens with a 20-game hitting streak...
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 8:12 pm : link
hitting .390 at SI right now and with the potential to be great defensively. Just 18 years old.
It's crazy how much success we've
kmed : 7/25/2014 8:14 pm : link
had vs Buehrle
Why
MookGiants : 7/25/2014 8:40 pm : link
won't they just DFA Roberts? He's terrible in the field and the plate, why does he continue to get chances? Bring up Refsnyder and let him play
Here comes Huff!
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 8:58 pm : link
Joe is overjoyed because he has two lefties for matchups. The problem is that they both fucking suck.
Can Kay and O'Neil
batman11 : 7/25/2014 9:07 pm : link
stfu about Smoltz and all this other bullshit and call the game? Where is Kenny Singleton? These two suck!
Nice basket catch shithead...
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 9:31 pm : link
Jacoby probably could have caught that.
Roberts
Vout-O-Reenie : 7/25/2014 9:32 pm : link
on rollerskates out there. The guy does not inspire confidence.
Roberts is awful
batman11 : 7/25/2014 9:36 pm : link
and he looks like a little kid wearing Yankee pajamas. I've seen enough of him.
Warning track power
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 9:43 pm : link
...
McCan't play first
RasputinPrime : 7/25/2014 9:49 pm : link
grrr
Nice, nice win...
Dunedin81 : 7/25/2014 9:50 pm : link
after the Joey Bats HR it looked like we were in trouble but a really nice rebound by Kuroda and a good game from the bats. Bullpen locked it down too.
Robertson is just nasty
RasputinPrime : 7/25/2014 9:50 pm : link
Betances to Robertson is really something to be proud of right now.
BFD
kmed : 7/25/2014 9:50 pm : link
Toronto sucks! Rebuild!!
Nice f'n win.
Dave in Hoboken : 7/25/2014 10:01 pm : link
They're on alittle bit of a roll now. Keep it going.
Girardi has really kept things together
djm : 7/25/2014 10:34 pm : link
He's turned chicken shit into a halfway decent serving of chicken Marsala. Average starting pitchers, shitty fucking lineup but a good bullpen -- 6 games over. Not bad. Girardi has done a good job.

If only tanaka didn't get hurt... I'd really believe this team can win the division. Shit I still think they can win it but with tanaka at the top id be really confident.

Holy shit, as much as I love Tanaka, I forgot he even got hurt, lol. Wow. Pretty amazing they are where they are without him and the rest of the rotation.

They're the reason why the Yanks are 6 games over .500 with a negative run differential
If Seattle beats BAL tonight,
Dave in Hoboken : 7/25/2014 11:18 pm : link
Yanks are just 2 games out of first. :)
This winning form probably intensifies the Cliff Lee rumors
dpinzow : 7/25/2014 11:26 pm : link
Yanks really don't have the team to go for it this year but if they are in a playoff position they'll have to do something. Can they swallow Cliff Lee's salary without giving up big prospects? I was on the stand pat bandwagon but the Yanks can't just give up the season when they are in a playoff position
And the Yanks need to get Refsnyder up here
dpinzow : 7/25/2014 11:31 pm : link
Even if he's not an everyday 2B yet they could use his bat in RF or at DH
classic
Pete in 'Vliet : 7/25/2014 11:44 pm : link
Playing good baseball, hope they keep it up
Vin R : 7/26/2014 12:02 am : link
.
Teixeira probably aggrivated his lats
Matt M. : 7/26/2014 2:45 am : link
celebrating. He is becoming a joke.
that Jeter moment
RasputinPrime : 7/26/2014 5:16 am : link
was awesome. Can be easy to forget that they are two of the best hitters in baseball history. Classic moment.

Baltimore W but we are winning the games we need to win.
Balt W puts us 2 games up in the loss column for the 2nd WC
TheMick7 : 7/26/2014 5:54 am : link

Maybe if Capuano shows something
section125 : 7/26/2014 7:43 am : link
the Cliff Lee nonsense goes away. $82 mill for a 35 yr old pitcher? Pfft.
That gif
illmatic : 7/26/2014 7:47 am : link
is cracking me up.
That gif is amazing.
BlueHurricane : 7/26/2014 7:59 am : link
Back to baseball. Why are they so reluctant to bring up Ref? I would imagine at the very worst he gives us what Roberts gives us. Hell Roberts has 11 errors this season. He isn't even fielding his position. Bring the kid up and add more life to the lineup. Making a run with some youth infused could really make the pennant chase fun.
Cash insists he's not interested in Cliff Lee...
Dunedin81 : 7/26/2014 8:33 am : link
I'm fine with that. He is banged up, his performance has suffered this year (yes, I realize those two may be related). He's a good pitcher, but imagine having the two highest paid pitchers in the AL (I think that's still true) and neither of them being on the mound? Throw in A-Rod's contract - who knows about his status for next year - and that's a lot of dead weight even for the Yankees.
Agreed.
kmed : 7/26/2014 9:05 am : link
The amount of money Cliff Lee would cost the Yankees would be astronomical. He'd have to be really, really, really good and a sure thing for ownership to approve that one, IMO.
For a reasonable price I'd rather see De La Rosa...
Dunedin81 : 7/26/2014 9:20 am : link
he won't be great but generally does a good job of keeping the ball in the park and he'll be competitive.
