Capuano makes Yankee debut. Off to a shaky start....hopefully he settles down. Not expecting much from him but Cash has made some good moves lately so we'll see.
because runners run at their own peril...but I don't understand why it wasn't infield fly rule. Girardi did not argue so I guess it was not.
An INFIELD FLY is a fair fly ball (not including a line drive nor an attempted bunt) which can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort, when first and second, or first, second and third bases are occupied, before two are out.
I think the problem is the phrase "caught by an infielder with ordinary effort"... it was a diving attempt at best... perhaps, if infield was in.

Roberts should have caught it with out a dive. I think McCann got in his way and he shied off. Since Girardi didn't argue he must have agreed.
Two non called errors and only one run given up. They got lucky.
I guess ump didn't think it was an easy enough catch
Roberts certainly isn't. So either A) Call up Refsnyder and suffer with growing pains or get B) get a fucking second baseman that can field.
I agree. Amazing how Oakland released Johnson because he was in effective and still own him millions and yet we still are holding on to Roberts. Boston released Prycinski. I'm still shocked we let Soriano go. ( agreed with the move)
as was Sox prospect Herrera. Some speculation this could be part of a Lester deal. If they get Seager for a couple months of Lester, even with some ancillary prospects, that's pretty crazy.
Do we really need 13 pitchers on the roster this week when we don't have one real first baseman?

Agreed, Rasmus did rob Gardner of a 2 run double.. they just suck at getting the big hit to widen a lead.
You go up 4 or 5-0, and it's a lot easier for a pitcher to hold the lead.

Now score some GD runs
Wish cervelli made an out there
Gooood night
One #HugWatch down, one to go. RT @PeteAbe: For those curious, Jonathan Herrera leaving AAA game was not trade related. Minor injury related
Dodgers prospect Corey Seager had a stomach virus yesterday and tried to play through it today. Safe to say he has not been traded.
