his favor, they need to PS him (he's eligible, after not being on the active 45 once last year). No one is going to take him from them if he shows himself to be that terrible.
There legitimately isn't a single sound reason for them to carry three QBs going at least going into this season. Not a one.
Second offense in two years- from down-the-field to WCO.
Still a young guy, so, let's be a little more patient than the beat writers who, after all, have a vested interest in stirring controversy over ability, draft pick status, etc.
New QB in next year's draft.
Nassib to the Practice Squad hoping someone will snatch him and The Giants get compensated.
Otherwise, another wasted draft choice.
Good work Reese.
for many rookie QB's to sit and learn behind the veterans for about five seasons. Of course with the salary caps, free agency and what teams invest in high draft picks this has become a thing of the past, but that doesn't mean that a young QB still couldn't emerge as a legitimate starter but needs 3-5 seasons to get there. Eli has been very durable and hasn't missed games so Nassib should get plenty of time to try and mature into the position.
With all due respect to a BBI regular, if the Giants put Nassib on the Practice squad, thus being equivalent to a Free Agent, and if he is signed by another team, the Jints don't receive compensation.
In 5 seasons. The one Robinson used when Nassib came to SU. Marrone had 2 in 2 seasons. 2 in 2 Giant camps. That's going to be tough for any quarterback. Eli, who is one of the brightest players in the NFL, is having trouble getting this offense down. Nassib has every ingredient you want in a quarterback. He just needs time. Look at Geno Smith and the rave reviews about his grasp of their system in year 2.

You don't receive comp picks for losing a guy off of the practice squad.
Nassib actually hardly played last preseason. He threw 19 passes in the preseason.
It's not uncommon for a 1st-year QB to look shaky in camp, especially if it's his second new offense in two seasons.
I have no idea how Nassib will turn out, but we're really jumping the gun here. [/quote
No jumping the gun. If he cant win the # 2 job then he's taking up a roster spot that wil be needed. It was a bad pick. Not exactly Reese's first There was ZERO need for a QB last year at any point in the draft amd regardless of Eli's struggles he's the best QB hands down on this team and maybe Nassib will develop but he's got no place on this team. Christ he's worse than Curtis Painter.

He doesn't need to be throwing lasers out there, just show some poise and earn a spot.

I like the pick because he dropped and was good value. But that is based on college this is the pro's.
They lost? This after 5 practices his second year?
only then can an accurate judgment be formed

So you're comfortable labeling a guy a bust after one season and five practices?

We all will see for ourselves in August.
Let's give this young man some more time before writing him off as a bust.

See what I did there. We can say this game on both sides of the proverbial spectrum.
I haven't been paying enough attention in class.
I still think we look for another QB in the near future.
Long Live Eli!
