NFT: Bachelor party in Charleston, SC - looking for recommendatio

plumber : 7/27/2014 6:28 am
This August, about 10 people, we have a free house. Looking for recommendations for golf, fishing (charter who can take all ten of us out and would be ok with some drinking), restaurants, and other related activities (e.g. strippers). We have about 3-4 days.

Much appreciated.

Age group? In any case, enjoy Rue de Jean for fantastic food, and the nearby Basil for terrific Thai food. Both also have a terrific bar scene.

Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, about a 40 minute drive from the city.

also recommend Charleston National and Stono Ferry for golf. Both are closer to Charleston than Kiawha and way less expensive.
For a casual outing try

The Southend Brewery & Smokehouse. Decent food and a variety of freshly brewed beers and ales. Try the Pot Roast Hoagie. It melts in your mouth.

I concur on all the golf suggestions.
Age of the group is approximately 28

Thanks for the great golf and restaurant tips. Any ideas regarding the fishing charter or any other activities - arriving on a Thursday, leaving on a Monday.
Henry's bar is a great spot.

We drove an hour to play Kiawah. Best party weekend ever.

Yep
Southend? Really?

Southend may well have the WORST brewed beer in Charleston. Honest to God. The food's OK, but don't touch the beer.

If you're looking for GOOD beer in Charleston, you have options. COAST makes great beer, but it's just a brewery, and it's just on the old Navy base; nothing fancy.

For a GREAT meal with GREAT beer, try Edmund's Oast, although (a) you'd better make a reservation; and (b) you probably should count on cabbing it up/back. The neighborhood's a little sketchy. See link.

Other GOOD breweries: Holy City; Frothy Beard.

But there's a new place which would be GREAT for a bachelor party. 120 taps. That's right, 120 taps. I'll put the direct link to their FB page below.
