NFT: Video Games: Trade in your 360 for $303 bucks

LawrenceTaylor56 : 7/27/2014 11:25 am
My friend called me up this morning and says he did this. Said he saw it last night on CheapAssGamer and tried it this morning. Walked out with $303 store credit.

It's only exclusive to the the xbox 360 4gb console. I'm going to pick two of them up from Gamestop and trade them in for my PS4. Below is a link to the original thread.

Sounds like something

that will get pulled down. No chance it doesn't get flagged at some point.
Oh no doubt it will get pulled down eventually.

But it's been up for over 15 hours.
Not worth the trouble of getting stuck

with a system to have to return it. I'll leave this to the college kids. Sounds like more effort than it's worth.

Yup
The "flippers" ruin everything...

Anytime there's a sale on video games, systems, etc. you get the neckbeards from CAG and Slickdeals descending upon stores in a haze of Doritos cheese dust and Mountain Dew Code Red bottles to exploit every single possible misprint or forgotten limit per customer - all to work the system for a modest profit after a few hours of work.

I was going to pick-up a couple 3DS games from Best Buy last week when they were running a BOGO deal, but apparently a single guy bought every game offered on the promotion (even multiple copies) and then likely flipped them at Target for a $20 profit per two games traded in, leaving nothing in the store.

This isn't as egregious, but still....

Deal is dead.

Got it in over an hour ago. Nice little down deposit on the PS4 Destiny bundle.

I got there at 1110am and bought the last remaining bravely default before two neckbeards arrived and saw me holding it and flipped the fuck out because they were going to flip it to Target. Started bitching that I should go play Call of Duty instead. I guess I showed up showered and not wearing a Cake is a Lie meme shirt so I am Dudebro?
I'm surprised they confronted you directly...
UAGiant : 7/27/2014 7:05 pm : link
Instead of sulking away with sarcastic/snide comments muttered under their breath, avoiding direct confrontation (and human contact).

I asked the guy working in the Best Buy game department last weekend why they didn't stock anything if they knew they were having a promo and apparently someone figured out you can buy "In Store" on the website starting at 12:00 AM in your timezone and have the deal be honored. Their entire inventory was pulled before the doors even opened and were reserved behind the front desk counter for a couple customers that did this. He also had one guy snatch a ton of games and every Wii U controller in stock on the Saturday prior and fully expected that person to return on Sunday to have the prices adjusted (as Best Buy will honor the new price).

I don't begrudge finding some stupidity by a company like this 360 trick LT56 pointed out and gaming the system a bit, but you can't get decent video game deals anymore - it either gets shut down due to exploiters ruining it for everyone and cheating the system or people snatching up everything to flip (for a tidy profit of $4 an hour of their time) and making it so you either play dirty with them or have to camp out to save $20 on a game.

I used to like to go to Slickdeals and the like to find decent bargains, but its now a club for socially inept individuals to brag about purchasing 40 vacuum cleaners that were accidentally marked down $100 at Kohls and flipping them for a total net of $400 (despite having a few thousand dollars tied up and spending countless hours moving them around). Its especially bad around the holidays when they try to buy all the popular toys and gouge parents.

Also - screw you for getting Bravely Default. I can't find that stupid game anywhere (though I guess I could just order it on Amazon...). I have been flying weekly to my client in Houston and am burning through my 3DS collection, was trying to get that and Mario Golf.

Ok this time I'm serious.... /rant
Also...

That "screw you" was in jest - just in case it wasn't clear.
Agree with what's being said here.
LawrenceTaylor56 : 7/27/2014 7:32 pm : link
Just figured I'd give it a try. But yeah when there are great deals it sucks when everything is picked through for a few bucks profit.
Oh every comment was muttered to one another under their breath

but I heard every word.

They'll have to find another game with 1000 year old demons who have the body of 12 year old girl sorcerers to jack off to, I guess.
