and JPP on the other could have an awful lot to say about our season success. Ayers should be a solid depth/rotational guy but a lot is going to hinge on whether Moore can be an above average starting DE and whether that helps JPP to return to form.
Moore made some plays before getting injured. If he's stronger Â
I think the top eight can all contribute. It may end up being as good as any unit on the team. With the good reports on the LBs as well the D is looking like a true Giants' D.
But isn't that what you'd hope he could do, and what he wasn't doing on a consistent basis last year at this time? Jeebus...we knew he wasn't a finished product when he was drafted, but the big questions about him were his maturity and work ethic. Would he put the time and effort in to maximize his potential? So far it looks like he has, and that's a step in the right direction.
...we can move on to complaining about Jay Bromley, Weston Richburg and any other 2014 draft picks who don't play immediately. If all else fails, there's always Ryan Nassib and his clipboard. j/k
go back and look at the steelers preseason game A last year b4 moore hurt his shoulder. he was killing it vs. their starters. sacked big ben
if he is a pro bowl-type DE and JPP has a big contract year we are in 4 a treat. maybe one of those years aligning where both our DEs r firing at the same time
but they sure seem to be putting a lot of eggs in the Kiwanuka/Moore/Ayers basket.
Erm, aren't those three guys three different metaphorical baskets? They signed Ayers and retained Kiwanuka so that they'll have options if Moore doesn't develop into a solid starter in 2014.
Need somebody-Kiwi, Ayers, or Moore-to generate pressure & keep JPP from getting double teamed. I think JPP is going to have a big season, but he needs help.
though I think Hankins is the 2nd year DL guy with the potential to be a stud.
They are going to need a pass rush from somewhere. Can JPP consistently provide a rush? Will Moore provide the speed rush off the edge? Can Bromley step up and provide some push up the middle? Hankins flashed as a beast in the run game last year, can he have an LJ like impact as a pass rusher as well? He doesn't need the sacks, but he can't let the QB step up in the pocket comfortably.
I'm fairly confident Jenkins will provide a steady, consistent rush from the DT spot. The rest of the DL is filled with (immense) potential and question marks though.
May very well see Jenkins slide into the DE spot Â

You'd think they're different, but not really. Neither Ayers nor Kiwanuka have done much of anything in recent years to distinguish themselves as solid pass rushers. Kiwanuka is coming off a terrible year +, and Ayers, though a solid Run Stopper, has 12 sacks in 72 games.
it's a defensive line that can swing either way.....but I don't think it's going to swing the way BBI wants.....
As far as Moore goes, this season will be his learning experience.....because of the injury, he was limited last year....hopefully, him bulking up does not affect his speed....can only hope he gets better as the season progresses, because for all intents and purposes, he is just a rookie....experienced OT's will provide the lessons....
If he makes some plays against the Buffalo reserves, he may turn into a good rotational DE for the Giants.
Agreed, but that's why it's more meaningful that it's a teammate and coach praising him, not just the media

Of course you don't. What else is new?
