going to be a sequel. But they ran into so many problems (financing, weather, civil unrest where they were filming, and the coup de grace - Gibson going off the rails) that it morphed into a reboot.
Don't expect a lot of dialogue and story. Miller apparently shot this from a storyboard instead of a script.
somewhere between The Road Warrior & Thunder Dome. IDK.
The Interceptor (the car) gets destroyed in The Road Warrior and it's mentioned as one of the last remaining ones in that film, so maybe it is just a complete reboot since it's seen here getting destroyed again.
I've still watched it dozens of times, but it lacks the things Mad Max & The Road Warrior had. Mainly the insanity & brutality of those first two films.
or need a lot of dialogue. The cinematography alone will make this worth seeing. Add in a good cast and a Director with a proven track record and that's all I can ask.
This looks desolate and absolutely brutal. Depicts Road Warrior very well.
just announced they are putting out a Special edition blu ray of Mad Max .I just bought the blu ray box set a few months ago too but the good thing about scream factory is there will be a ton of extras
is one of the best movies about nothing ever made. Great visuals. Absolutely devoid of any real depth. I can't think of a better movie with such a simple plot.
Thunderdome was a rather cheesy movie and easily the worst of the trilogy. The first two had quality indy feel. Thunder had Hollywood written all over it.

Miller apparently went old school on this quite a bit. Lots of real stunt work and less cgi than you'd expect.
