I really hope

he makes it. Either with the Giants or elsewhere.
I want him to make it with the Giants

Yep, especially if OBJ has any type of issues. I have a bad feeling about manninghams knee though, i hope i'm wrong.
I would really like to see him play in this offense

Like Cruz, Manningham could be real productive with the ball in his hands and a little bit of open space.
It doesn't sound to me . . .

. . . like he's going to make it.
Is it his own subconcious,
Blackbeard : 7/28/2014 5:44 pm : link
or not so subconscious, reservations about the knee?
Or is it that he has lost some physical ability?

Let's hope he makes it as a Giant.

I thought this was a Puff Piece, but I was wrong.
Thanks, Connor. You're very good.
Good YAC ability

he could thrive in a WCO if healthy. Might get a shot if ODB isn't ready for week 1.
I'm rooting for him, but ...

The big injury with the 49ers might have done him in, a real shame, if true.

I always thought he was very misused here. In his prime, he had the very best juke moves after the catch - ideal for a WCO. Instead, the Giants tried to make him a deep vertical receiver.

He was good, but not as good as he could have been.

I think it's probably in the front of his mind and I think it's understandable. There's going to be some reservation and hesitation on his part until he can go out there and practice for a few weeks at 100% with no swelling or setbacks. It always takes time to get your confidence back after a major injury. How much of an effect it's had on his ability remains to be seen, but we may never get the chance to see. If he's slow to get back to the field and a young guy like Harris continues to make the most of every opportunity he could get caught up in the numbers game.

I hope he makes it back but

Harris is a lock for 1 of the 6 WR spots based on what I have seen in camp, he is impressive.

Cruz, Randle, OBJ, Jernigan, Harris and (Holiday/Mannningham) with Washington to PS.

Holiday has the edge for the last spot as he contributes on specials, providing he does not fumble his way off the team prior to final cuts.
