What kind of question is that though? If Granderson was getting paid twice what he is making now I wouldn't be that happy with his production either. Honestly batting .270 with 8 home runs, barely OPSing .700 is bad for a 3rd baseman period. He's 8th out of 10 hitters in the NL at third and getting paid top dollar. Im not bashing the guy. I love him. I just want him to at least be 70% of the player he once was. Its frustrating.
is this just an off year or the start of a decline?? His numbers seem to be regressing over the last couple seasons and the nagging shoulder injuries and back injuries might be taking a toll.

The year you are referring to was 2011. He still hit 14 home runs that year in only 389 at bats. While you are right that that year is by far the closest to being his worst year other than this year he still OPSed .770 that year with only a .250 batting average. He's OPSing 740 right now, the lowest of his career.
he was godawful defensively and couldn't throw to first but he's already surpassed the at bats at this point in the season and their WARs aren't that far off. From a hitting standpoint he was better that year even with a broken back.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn starter Casey Meisner was awful, throwing 87-91 mph with an above-average curveball but no command or deception.
I'd sign for Duda with average LF defense to be honest with you! Another Duda in this lineup (who wasn't Duda bad in LF) would be a really nice addition.

I think the whole thing is overblown to be honest. Conforto will almost certainly begin next season in St. Lucie either way so if it's an extra 20-30 games because they weren't "aggressive" this year who really cares?
