FYI.
Odell Beckham Jr. Absent from Giants’ Practice for Doctor Visit - ( New Window )
His injury is unfortunate
steve in ky : 7/28/2014 5:25 pm : link
Rookies that miss a lot of time early in spring often don't have the best track records once the season starts.

visit will give everyone a better time frame on when to expect OBJ back. I understand the need to get him on the field ASAP, but with hamstrings being so tricky, they cant rush him.

Rather him miss 2-3 preseason games and be able to contribute late in the season than this linger on well into the season and possibly make it a lost season all together.
Doctor told him to stop

Then they should medically clear him to work.
Tomorrow
AcidTest : 7/28/2014 6:28 pm : link
they'll be better able to tell us how long he'll be out. But as others have said, missing all this time hurts his potential productivity this season. Practicing is so important for rookies.
He'll be out until after the HOF game
BillT : 7/28/2014 7:04 pm : link
That much is certain. Hope he returns after that. Still enough time to get him going.
See ya next year
dcgiantsfan : 7/28/2014 7:14 pm : link
We are already have a coach that is not big on playing rookies...especially WRs. Now he can't even get on the practice field.
Well, the article is a relief for me
jcn56 : 7/28/2014 7:22 pm : link
I read the headline too quickly and took it to mean that Beckham skipped the doctor's appointment. Can't fault the guy for being hurt.
When was the last WR the Giants have drafted that
Kulish29 : 7/28/2014 7:27 pm : link
HASN'T gotten hurt in camp?

I mean, is it me or, does this seem to happen to them all the friggin time?
She has a hammy.....
deadkurtrulz : 7/28/2014 8:31 pm : link
I was afraid he would not make it out of the preseason without injury but he surprised me. He didn't even make it to the preseason.

Pulled a hammy signing his contract and now he will be another stationary bike all-pro. Yay......

here we go

May his return from injury

Dry Lightning : 7/28/2014 9:55 pm : link
100%. Giants were stupid to let him out there. Just let it heal. There is that element with Coughlin like your dogging it with a hammy. That is called for when you have Plaxico Burress, a known dog, doing it. With all others it should be innocent until proven guilty. Just let them alone. Coughlin, is still doing it, even now. Just pointless.
My guess is this is a lot more serious than a tweak!
redthumper32 : 7/28/2014 10:46 pm : link
I predict IR before the season starts.

You've been predicting that for weeks now. It's like you're hoping it will happen just so you can say 'I told you so!'

They'll probably put him down to end his suffering.

They shoot horses, don't they?
You can't blame people for getting antsy.
Curtis in VA : 7/29/2014 8:28 am : link
We've seen scenarios happen so many times where guys, especially rookies, get these little nagging injuries that totally ruin their season.

I'm definitely a little concerned at this point.
If people want to get antsy, there's nothing you can do
Ten Ton Hammer : 7/29/2014 8:47 am : link
but I don't understand why TC is making it a point to keep harping on the kid in press conferences, when it's his own medical staff that's not clearing him to get out there. This isn't Beckham's choice.
The Beckham-Bashers aren't simply antsy.
Klaatu : 7/29/2014 8:53 am : link
They didn't like the pick, so they're using his misfortune as an excuse to blow their own snarky little horns.
TC is upset
deadkurtrulz : 7/29/2014 9:00 am : link
because this kid literally pulled the hammy signing his contract. Did not participate in OTA's or minicamp and could not get thru one practice. Not a formula to get a lot of playing time when Tom is your coach. He needs to get his candy ass on the field pronto or he will spend his rookie year in TC's doghouse.
You should go to a practice...
Klaatu : 7/29/2014 9:03 am : link
And call him a "candy ass" to his face.
Why doesn't he make the Dr.'s Appointment

DURING OFF HOURS ... or his day off ...

Could a non-terrible poster offer their opinion?

If you got hurt at your job, would they make you wait until your day off to see a doctor?

it's not even 10am and this easily wins the "post of the day"...

what's he gonna do? My sister is bigger than him. And if I run away he can't catch me...lol.

I hope he can get back on the field and prove he is a playmaker. But I have my doubts.

Interesting comment. He reminds me of Terry Glenn who tuna was talking about there
sound familiar?

Patriots observers say Parcells, who did not return a call seeking comment, has similarly addressed other players in the past. But it attracted more attention this time because of the draft-day power struggle over whether to select the Ohio State wideout in the first place.

Parcells wanted to take a defensive player with the No. 7 pick overall, but the Patriots took Glenn because of Kraft's feeling that the team needs to improve its offense to compete for a Super Bowl title.

Then, Glenn injured his hamstring and missed the entire exhibition season with what Parcells insisted was a mild strain. Asked about Glenn one day at training camp, Parcells said: ``She's making progress.''

It is nice of posters to put a "z"
