Hall of Fame Game Flashback

I can still remember watching Shockey destroying the texans as a rookie that year. Was so excited for him.

Searched for video of it but couldn't find any, but hopefully we get some good breakouts from somebody this year.
He also was injured in that game, iirc

the first version of Rob 'Alcohol fueled' Gronkowski.
I remember that too

you could see Giant players laughing/cheering it on the sidelines. How time flies.

To me, the other really outstanding Shockey plays were trucking the colts safety, beating Dawkins on the jump ball, and catching Eli's 4th and 1 touchdown heave with a forward dive against San Fran.
I was fucking giddy

after that game. Most excited I've ever been after a pre-season game
Ive been trying to tell Pats fans

that we have seen this Gronkowski show before. He will ALWAYS get hurt because of the style he plays, just like Shockey. You only get to see guys like this at their peak for like 2-3yrs. Their peaks are amazing, but short.

Shockey trucking that safety in the colt game is just ridiculous.
Found the video...

that isn't the HOF game video. That was when Shockey trucked the homeboy who had talked some junk earlier in the week.
I wonder if Gronk

smokes as much Cronk, as Shockey?

Really? Oh wow thanks for the info. I completely missed "Texans" in the OP and thought of the Colts play from his rookie year.
The Giants also played in the first hall of fame game

On the opening kickoff Bookie Bolin, Lou Kirouac, and Bob Bill were injured. The Giants kept Bolin on the roster and he became a starter at RG, Kirouac ended up on the practice squad, to join the Giants in 1963. Bill a lineman selected in the second round out of Notre Dame was placed on injured reserve and never made it back from his knee injury.

Imagine your Giants career over in one play.

The game with the Cards in 1962 ended in a 21-21 tie.
