Any BBI folk live in, or are familiar with, the Johnson City/Tri-Cities area. Wife and two boys (very young) are moving there in the next few weeks for a job. Would love to hear any thoughts/recommendations.
goes to College in Greenville Tn just down the road from JC Nice area on the foothills of the Smokies. While not NYC it definitely not backwoods but a short drive and it is.
Instead of Applebees they have Fatz if you go just tell them it's your first time and they will give you free food.
Seems like a nice area to raise a family but I really don't know how the schools are.
They are nice and smart, cultured enough, but then again they don't live there anymore and maybe there's a reason. Everyone has a gun, not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that. Hunting is a big deal. I've driven through -- pretty, hilly, if you like that kind of thing. Don't count on the schools being good.
Wife's family is from Abingdon, VA, just up the road in Virginia.
Tri-Cities is a nice place to live; you can afford a real nice house. Medical care is surprisingly good. Sales tax is high; income tax (relatively) low. But the schools . . . . not good.
