Prince is a solid corner, but he's not a ridiculous athlete or a turnover-creator like Peterson or Sherman. And he's not the cover man of a Revis or Sherman either.
what our FAs will GET on the open market are almost always wrong and at times far off..LinJo is the latest of such miscalculations..
Beason too.
This contract seems fine. The 48 guarantee is only for injury. Kyle Brady's contract also had a big injury guarantee that didnt apply to skills decline. Maybe this is the new trend (or old and I missed it). Overall, 70 for 5 years starting with the 2016 season doesnt seem like a bad deal for AZ. NFL revenues have been skyrocketting for 20 years. Cap has gone from 34 million in 1994 to 134 million in 2004. Cap should easily be more than 175 or 200 come the end of Peterson's deal.
The tough decision for the Cardinals will be Larry Fitzgerald.
Although a restructure bought some time, his 2015 cap hit is well over $20MM, with an $8MM roster bonus. He hasn't been "that guy" for a couple of years.

Your ok with $14 mill per for a CB? 10% of the cap to a CB? Triple DRC. He's worth 3x DRC?
This deal doesnt kick in until 2016. And of course you cant take an NFL contract that has a list value of 70 over 5 and just assume that it is equal payments of 14, 14, 14, 14, and 14. You need to look at the actual structure of the contract. But in a world where the cap is $200 million (circa 2020?), $14 million is not a lot for an elite CB. And if he isnt elite, he doesnt see the end of this deal.

I just looked it up. $23,600,000 for Fitz next year, as a cap hit. $14.4 dead $ if they cut him. How could they have done this? That seems like a huge blunder. Maybe they restructure him?
play offense anymore and he struggles mightily against a few other WRs like Michael Crabtree. A top 5 CB, but not as consistent as some others. #1 cb in terms of athleticism.
Peterson's ability to return helps him, though.
If they waited until he was actually a FA in 2 years he would cost more

Ahem, I was pretty close on LJ.
I'd take PP over Haden and Sherman, his AA and ceiling are elite and he's still a kid on the ascent.
