How did you hear about the site?

because threads like this show up every year.

It has to suck dealing with this.

Scouts.com made me an offer to earn more what I'm making now if I basically moved BBI to their platform.

Would have helped me out more, but go look at how their message boards operate. (their college boards are their model)

They have separate premium (fee-based) and free boards and content.

For a fan, it sucks. Would have helped me financially but sucked for BBI'ers.

Scouts.com is coming up domain for sale. Maybe they should have been offering to pay you to help restructure their site instead (grin)

I mean how can you use the internet unless you can scrape up $10 $15 $20 to share. for one time don't go out to eat and make yourself a grilled cheese. Use the difference to give back to something you benefit from.

If I type New York Giants this should come up in the results.

But what about making using the site free but posting on the site an annual charge of $10? With the amount of people who post that would generate revenue and I think many people would support this in addition to the donation.

I'm happy to contribute and he's under no obligation to justify what he does or doesn't do with contributions. The OP's request is patently absurd.

I have zero interest in BBI's financials. I muster up a donation every August b/c I get a lot of value out of this site every year. Add to that, there have been a lot of really good improvements made in recent years to how the site works and its content IMHO

BBI's financials are none of my business, except to say I really hope Eric continues to find it worthwhile to keep this site going

If you're going to ask for info that Eric isn't going to give out, ask which of the daily regulars don't contribute. That's one I'd love to know, even though I have no right to know it.

It takes some serious ka ching to make it worthwhile putting up with the horde of whiners/trolls and idiots which make up a vocal portion of BBI. I don't think Eric is ever going to get enough for that. The best we can hope for is that he gets enough to not say screw it all and close shop.

And don't forget that the trophy cost comes out of Eric's pocket, too.

So with that in mind, why would you think that, all of a sudden, Eric is looking to screw over the people he's been working hard for, for years now?

I hope he does very well with it, it was his idea and his sweat that got this website going that we all enjoy

but the consistent responses from the rest of the group here settled that down. I've been donating regularly for quite a few years now (holy crap I've been on this site for almost a decade), and for all the time and effort Eric and the crew running the site put in I'm more than happy to help out with no need to see any sort of numbers. This is a second job for all involved (Eric, Gary, Shawn, Bold, Connor) and it costs money to run a high traffic site to begin with. From another ancient flip phone user, I'm glad this isn't scout.com.

that he was good intentioned with the request and simply didn't put much thought to how absurd a request it was. The good intention being, that if Eric did in fact share the priofit and loss statement more members might contribute, eliminating the need for ads.

It doesn't change the fact that it is none of his business, that even if true Eric would still be entitled to ad revenue if he chooses, all compounded by the the last sentence,

Great site and keep up the good work. If this was a subscription service, it would be worth a few bucks per week just to have a one-stop place to obtain all of your Giants-related news. More people should think of it that way, and you'd probably receive fewer of these silly posts.
