NFT: For you Everton fans out there

And I know there are a few...Lukaku has signed. £28m.

Great time to be a toffees fan with Barkley and Coleman committing their futures, Besic and Barry in the fold. Top for will be tough but no-one will want to visit Goodison this season.

news! Looking forward to a great year.
That is great news for Everton

Didn't think they had the finances to keep most of that team together but apparently Bill Kenwright opened his checkbook (or chequebook as they say over there). He got really close to the Champions League and it's very tempting
Love how the top teams are not content this transfer window

and continue to strengthen their already strong squads, while Tottenham sit on their asses and do nothing. Looks like another 6-7th place finish this season for my Spurs. Ugh.
As a new Everton fan

I was reading Chelsea was looking for 30M which many thought would scare Everton off, but Martinez seems to have the clout right now to get what he wants. Should make for another fun season! COYB.
This seems
Tim in Capital City : 7/30/2014 11:25 pm : link
a really shortsighted move by Mourinho. As I said to my brother, he wouldn't loan Ba to Arsenal last season, but he's willing to sell Lukaku (at 21 years old) to Everton!?!
cloud 9

I was dreading the news that he would sign with Liverpool. Love this move. Somewhere Moyes is shaking his head...NOW they get a decent transfer budget...

I was already happy with the Barkley extension. I honestly don't know much about Besic. But right up there is the contract extension for Roberto Martinez. He's been fantastic. Loved his commentary during the World Cup as well.

Tim, he wouldn't loan Ba to Arsenal because why help one of your competitors for the title? As for Lukaku, when both healthy, who is better, Lukaku or Benteke? It's really close, right? But neither is top-tier yet. It's a good bit of business for Chelsea, who could get another striker whenever they please.
I think it is a fair price

If he progresses Everton have a great player and he is already a very good one, Chelsea have gotten some serious £ for him.

You can compare to Liverpool's deal for Origi and he looks expensive but I felt like Lukaku was the better striker.
I do think Chelsea are making some interesting decisions
English Alaister : 7/31/2014 10:40 am : link
bringing back Drogba whilst letting a young talent like Lukaku go. Makes you wonder if Jose has already decided he is not there for the long haul.
And of course Mourinho then has to go bash Lukaku
SwirlingEddie : 7/31/2014 11:57 am : link
questioning publicly his motivation and attitude. Bad form Jose.

Agreed. Conversely, for examplem, Liverpool has focused on bringing in younger talents like Can, Origi, Markovic. (Ricky Lambert aside). Rodgers is trying to set up the team for a nice run of guys in their prime.

and long haul in the same sentence is kinda funny.
