That was the thing that was always great with Tuck when healthy and Stra. They were true 2 way D ends. Our defense needs a stout 2 way guy again. If JPP returns to form we may just have 2 guys who can excel vs the pass and the run.
“Maturity,’’ Moore said, “and learning behind some of the greatest. I mean playing behind [Jason Pierre-Paul], Kiwi [Mathias Kiwanuka], Tuck, all those guys played under somebody, Tuck played under Strahan and Osi. One of things you got to bide your time and if tradition keeps going like it usually goes with the Giants you sit out your first year or don’t play as much and then you learn behind somebody great and then eventually you get to move up in the rankings.’’
...of all the times he held Strahan over the years, but I've never heard anyone acknowledge on this site the tremendous compliment he paid to Strahan when asked for a comment when Strahan was retiring. Runyan said that he was the greatest defensive player at converting speed moves to power and vice-versa that he ever faced.
If Moore picks up anything at all from Strahan it cannot be a bad thing.
Also, if you set yourself up with a mentor like this, doesn't it add somebody else important that you don't want to let down? Sounds like motivation to me.
Man if he can contribute and JPP comes back look out with this secondary & improved LB core.
