I believe that runners can pick up a new system fast b/c they know where they are going, but QBs have a steep learning curve since the defense usually dictates where the pass will go.

As clearly shown in the above, there is plenty of work to be done in that area as well...

but if there's a trend throughout preseason it could be a warning sign.

Last year, the offense was terrible in preseason and it carried over to the regular season. They had to keep the first team offense in longer than usual in the last preseason game hoping that they would score.

There's been very little connection between performance in the pre-season and regular season during the Coughlin years, as far as the offense goes. They've been bad then bad (like last year), bad then good (like 2011), good then good (like 2008), good then mediocre, mediocre then mediocre etc.

Maybe there will be more rhyme and reason in a new offense, but history, for now, says none of us should worry too much about what they presume is quality play in the pre-season one way or another outside of player health.

as to how the team will perform.

I particularly like to see who is playing with least mistakes and winning on third down in the First Half.

The Second Half of mistakes made by many likely non-roster players many times decide the score which is not important.

Giants 2nd OL will impress, Peyton Hillis will make his.case for a roster spot. Mario Manningham in the words of the Mrs, will "impress the pants right off everyone."

The ones will take a few weeks to get going. Eli will throw an early pick and the tight ends won't be game ready.
