It was especially cool that both Carson and LT moved up to be the first to meet him. (Carson is about 4th or 5th in line previously, I did not see LT until Strahan).
yeah..that was awesome seeing LT and Harry do that last night
and as proud as I am to have seen three Hall of Famer throughout their entire career in Taylor, Carson, and Strahan, I am equally as excited for Ray Guy who finally is going into the HoF which he should have gone into a LONG LONG time ago...
Best defensive player of my lifetime as a Giants fan; an absolute beast in not only getting after the QB, but also defending the run. While I wanted him to return in '08, especially after Osi's injury that August, I'm happy he retired on top. My lasting image will be his sack of Brady on 3rd and 6 or 7 in Super Bowl XLII. Terrific Giant who has done well for himself post-football. Congrats 92!
They should vote Kurt Warner into the football HOF. His story is unique; his stats over a short time are great. He is a good guy. Sandy Koufax is the baseball equivalent. Put Kurt in. His legacy is as important as Namath's.

A summary of Claude Humphrey's HoF speech so far: He likes chicken wings, beer, sex and football. Not necessarily in that order
NFL Top players of 2014: #s 69-61 airs at 11:30 PM!
Lol it's some summer night. Let them go until 2 in the morning, these guys waited there entire career and life for this moment. What else am I going to do? watch the Mets?
He said he knew he was #1 when a whole section of Giants fans flipped the bird on him
Then he said that after the Cardinals upset the Cowboys at Texas Stadium in the 1998 playoffs, they started planning the new Cowboys Stadium because God was no longer watching the Cowboys through the hole in the roof
is you can't really ask someone else to go short to make up for someone else going long. It's a highlight of these guys' lives. If they go 10 or 15 minutes "long" you just deal with it.
and bring up how absurdly amazing it is that the Bills made 4 straight Super Bowls? Sure they lost them all, an in the process a lot of jokes were made, but its still incredible.

Nice to hear him get some credit. I think he's often overlooked by Giants fans but he had a great run here. Not sure what his health issues are but my thoughts are with him.
I also learned it's OK to sleep during some of the meetings
Favorite part was when Osi came up to him and told him "you know we have got to sack Tom Brady to win this game" and Strahan asked him if he learned how to read the papers LMAO
was awesome, honestly, all the speeches I saw were really good. I started watching at Claude Humphrey, so I missed the first couple or maybe just derrrick brooks.
was a walk down memory lane hearing all those names.
I hope this inspires the team in some way. Hearing a Hall of Famers talk about their future Hall of Fame Head Coach and Quarterback like that. I would love nothing more than for Eli to make it rain all over the league this season.
And his family, I loved that he ticked off the names of those Giants from the late 90s to 2000, especially Robert Harris (wasn't his career cut short by a dark eye injury? Or was that someone else?) and the Hammer.
The Eli bit was awesome. Fassel and Fox was classy as hell. Jesse was great and he rightly mentioned guys like Tiki, Simms, LT, the great oline, the Hammer, OSI, Tuck, AP, OJ,and many others who I've forgotten.
Most needed editing. Whatever, they earned it. Loved seeing John Madden and he had a very powerful intro about the state of Punters/kickers as football players. Great to see Jim Kelly there.
Claude Humphrey stole the show. Between going to church, sex, beer naps and fried chicken it's mind boggling how he ever found time for football. I was in fits.
Aeneas Williams: "Begin with the end in mind; die empty" was the strongest theme/line of the night for me.
Turned the channel when Andre Reed was starting cause I was already bored and I turn back on like ten hours later and he's still blabbing.
Strahan represented himself and the organization very well. Lots of Giants there. Love the gap on the bust. Icon immortalized.
3 eras he played in. Crazy to think that he was drafted just a few months after Ray Handely was fired, and played with guys like LT and Simms, but also played with Eli, who could very well play another 6-8 years or so. Quite the career he had.
Eli gets a lot of shit from the critics, so for Strahan to give him those props in a building full of NFL legends and a nationwide football audience was a class move. Really loved every second of the speech - I've never been a huge Strahan fan but he scored some major points with me tonight (not that he freaking cares).
Yeah I could be confusing a Robert Harris injury with other Giants eye injuries, like Grian Williams and Cedric Jones. In fact, I could be getting more confused but the more I think about it, was it maybe that Harris as a rookie, poked Williams in the eye?
I don't man, I'm AARP eligible now. Memory's uh, um...forgot what I was going to say.
The only surprising aspect of the night was that it seemed that it was not a huge Giants crowd...seemed the Buffalo folks turned out in much greater numbers.

Not that surprising. A Bills fanbase deseparte for something to celebrate only 3.5 hours from Canton, compared to 7 hrs for NYC.
I thought his comments about Tom were very classy ...
He gave him a lot of respect (while acknowledging that he and Coach didn't get along). Which proves the point that you & your boss don't have to like each other to have success.
Kind of feel sorry for the Bills fans. The HOF IS their Superbowl. They kind of remind me of the old Cleveland Brown, rabid & die-hard but still lost their team to Baltimore.
Strahan represented us perfectly. Respect to LT, the greatest Giant of all time. Respect to Eli. Not just respect, but beyond. Also to Coughlin, and everyone. Including Tyree's helmet. Strahan is the man.
What a great Giant and person a true class act. No surprise he is a successful as he is outside of football. The man gets it in regards to football and life. No one gets to a point in life without help in some way shape or form. And I believe he hit every point for him.
Enjoy your ride Mike you deserve it.
He was a rookie. It was a pre-season game and he recorded a sack and he was so excited he jumped for joy and when he landed, he broke his ankle, and I believe he was out for most of the year. Does anybody remember that? Amazing to think a Hall of Fame career started from such an inauspicious start.
They need to limit them to 15 minutes, though. I thought Andre Reed was going to get out his grade school report cards. Anaes Williams was very good except for the end when he miserably failed to get some kind of cheer going. Claude Humphrey "old school" good. Walter Jones, "yawn". Did Ray Guy even make a speech? (sarcasm off)
Same here, it's about damn time he got his due.
I don't like warner but I think you are right. The two titles and his story will get him in
In comment 11791107 Some Fan said:
RT @DanGrazianoESPN: Derrick Brooks has said, "finally" three times. I'm starting to not believe him.
That hug was right in front of me.

For a lot of these guys, this is the last time they'll have the national stage. Let 'em say what they have to say.
I think this is awesome. Best HOF ceremony so far.
I tell you what
just transcribing claude humphreys speech for those not near a tv
these are the two longest speeches ever. They are way way behind. Ive enjoyed both though
Lol it's some summer night. Let them go until 2 in the morning, these guys waited there entire career and life for this moment. What else am I going to do? watch the Mets?
nfl network also has the ceremony

I think Parcells did to his ex wife too.
Bitch.
who mentioned him? ESPN is on Ray Guy right now
He's the only one left so yes
This is on sale at Canton
Seems like he's mentioning everyone else.
an amazing feat.
Feel bad for any kids who couldn't stay up. Their parents said, "Don't worry, I'll tape it for you." Next morning, "Oh shit."
Classic.
Great speech. It feels like a family member joining the hall , after 15 years of watching Strahan kicking butts on the field.
I'm so proud to be a Giants fan tonight.
Favorite part was when Osi came up to him and told him "you know we have got to sack Tom Brady to win this game" and Strahan asked him if he learned how to read the papers LMAO
And of course busting Eli's balls.
Love the Michael Brooks references...one of my favorite players (largely forgotten).
I hope this inspires the team in some way. Hearing a Hall of Famers talk about their future Hall of Fame Head Coach and Quarterback like that. I would love nothing more than for Eli to make it rain all over the league this season.
Great speech by Strahan. Really great.

Great speech by a great Giant.
Im sure it will be on Giants.com pretty soon or youtube.
No mention of Brady. Just Erik Williams and Jon Runyan, when it comes to opponents.

He mentioned Brady when he said Osi came up to him breakfast of the Super Bowl and said they had to sack him to win the game.
Congrats to Michael Strahan - HOFer
