LIVE UPDATES: New York Giants vs. Buffalo Bills - (
New Window )
handoffs are not working at all.
what Al Michaels just said;
"Whipped around like a helicopter, is Cox."
However, Richburg proving his value. He's played C, RG and LG tonight.
looked like they had Manuel get rid of the ball quickly... lot of one read stuff.. even the deep balls to Watkins were one-read, max-protect stuff.
That's why the DL got their arms up and blocked a few passes.
It's not just runs for a loss. It's DL practically taking the handoffs on half those plays.
You can tell he has the quicks and the moves
last to the 7th rd, and the Giants knowing they have been lacking depth at LT didn't take a chance on him?? Didn't the Giants bring Henderson for a look as well??
Was the first HOFer they spoke with tonight.
what Cox has done, especially with little if any blocking.
this was a good outing. I am a little shocked JPP got held in check by a rookie. Granted it's preseason, but I am curious to see if he will ever be that guy we saw that dominated or is this it?
Giving the QB clean pockets. Our Line coaches could learn a lot from this game. Our first o couldn't run on the bills' first defensive unit. Couldn't pass block em that well either truthfully.
I saw JPP get handled pretty easily one-on-one by a rookie.

Missed it. Damn.
No way does Seantrel fit into our "leadership" mold. First round talent, probably, but we're far more into character guys.
Will get an earful for not falling on that. Nice sack tho by the kid from JMU. The Virginia boys showing well tonight (except Hosely).

On quick one-read pass attempts, yes. But, he did learn and got his hands up for a batdown at the LOS.
I don't think it's that much of a concern that JPP didn't have two sacks and three pass pressures.

Henderson is a pothead with a reputation for being lazy, somebody who just wants to skate by on his talent. Maybe he turns his life around, but after Hill, there was no way the Giants were going to draft Henderson. My guess is that they wouldn't have even brought him in as a UDFA. Not with their renewed emphasis on "team captains" and high character.
He's having a solid game along, seems his in the backfield every other play
but definitely worth a 6th rd choice??
when he engaged the LT. Looks alot like last year IMO. Hope his technique improves. Just no pop when he hits the tackle.
there are so many new players on the Giants this year
it is like eli was traded to another team
But tonight he was really horrid. Is it likely he doesn't even make the team?
for the 1st preseason game. Not aware of any injures either. Excited by Williams. Encouraged with Nassib's play.

the Giants didn't follow that theme, even their late rd selections were "team captain, well-respected" players...Coughlin is trying to rebuild the leadership that has been lost due to the retirement/aging of guys like Snee, Diehl, etc etc.
not a bad start to pre-season. Much to work on, but a lot of positive stuff.
A clean game tonight. No dumb shit happened to us.
A lot of positive things to take from this game.
Hearing Coughlin just getting asked about Wilson, it doesn't sound promising. Obviously I hope for the best for the kid, personally and professionally, but hearing Coughlin there makes me think they kind of already know. I guess we will find tomorrow.
Plenty to work on, but plenty of positives to build on. Not a bad start at all.
Very Nice game for him. Looks like our 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks have had a nice start.
Our 2nd team Oline really needs some work. We are going to
be addressing this area for awhile.
asking if Hosley might not make the team haven't looked at the depth chart.
Hosley's best shot is the drug suspension that keeps him around six weeks.

1st team OL was horrific until they were playing Buffalo's 2nd team ...

I think he's done. I forget who it was but someone in a thread said he knows a Giants equipment guy who said they saw troubling things on Wilson's x-ray. If I know the Giants, they will recommend that Wilson end his career.

2nd Team oline actually played well. It was the 3rd and 4th stringers that had issues and mostly the tackles and TEs.
Just Playin Pattycake out there.

What I don't understand is how they would see something on x-ray ... Wilson is post surgery and one would think they took TONS of film to monitor his progress post surgery ... why would they suddenly see something troubling?

It was BillyBoy8384 in yesterday's thread. I forget what else he's revealed, but I think he does know someone connected with the Giants.

i don't think it is quite accurate to say that they won't draft guys with character issues
He is not a good tackler because he lacks size. But he can cover.
You guys are exaggerating how poorly he played in coverage. He was beaten on a quick out. Other than that, he was decent in coverage. He had a poor effort on that one missed tackle.
I thought Holsey was flailing around out there and both back-up Bills QB's seemed to be deliberately targeting him.
He was by far the worst defensive player on the field for ny and looks like he is going to be cut.
Nassib and Williams on offense definitely stood out positively. Jernigan looks legit, the unrated WAs looked good to. Even Cox played well.
Good game, especially good for Nassib given the crap we keep bearing about him.
On a 3 step drop, 1 read pass attempt what exactly is JPP supposed to do. He is not going to get to the QB in 2 seconds. What do people expect. 1st preseason game.
I really don't think he went all out.
They came out of the game healthy for the most part
