NFT: Restaurants in Istanbul

Anyone here on BBI spent some time in Istanbul? I'll be going over in November and I am looking for some restaurant recommendations. Any favorites or can't miss eats?

there is a good Anatolian restaurant called Otantik. Cool neighborhood, decent place to walk around. Ferries from Karakoy, Kabatas, Eminonu, etc. are cheap and pretty frequent.

It's a fun place with a pretty extensive menu and I've never had a bad meal there.

Sarnic was built in a 1000 year-old cistern. It has a really cool atmosphere. High vaulted brick ceilings with these iron chandeliers. Website is below.

The food reviews on TripAdvisor run hot and cold. I ate there a long time ago, and the food was great.

It's one of my favorite cities in the world. I have a couple of go-to places but I don't even remember their names, I just know where they are and go. However, I've also done a lot of walk-ins and was never disappointed.

My advice is don't target specific restaurants because you don't have to. Whenever you're hungry, wherever you are, just walk in. Leave the worry about specific places behind and just enjoy where you are. Istanbul is awesome and food is the last thing you have to worry about there.
Oh yeah

the local drink, Raki. It's similar to Pastis - clear licorice flavored liquor that you dilute with water, which turns it milky. It's mad tasty and refreshing on ice.
Awesome, thanks guys
