and was very accurate. Missed Harris/Harvey in the endzone, but was otherwise on target. Second year player in his second offense in as many years, and everyone thinks he should be canned. Keep him over Painter.
I didnt understand the venom towards him last week. He's been one of few bright spots this preseason. It's too early to tell what we have in him, but he can play. I would like to never see Painter in a Giants uniform again.
I doubt they keep three QBs on this roster. So....
It's gonna come down to this: if the Giants decide that they have a chance to be good this year, they'll go with Painter, who's got more experience and can step in and play should Eli get hurt. If the Giants decide they're more of a work in progress, they'll go with Nassib and look to the future.
Up until two hours ago, I thought the Giants might actually be sort of good this season, and that Curtis Painter would be the choice. But after the vicious debacling we experienced in the first half, I now wonder whether the Giants might quietly confess that this is a rebuilding year, and that the developmental guy gets the nod over the experienced one.
going to keep Nassib. He's got the arm and mobility Painter never had and never will. He's also a second year player in his second offense in as many years. And they spent a fourth and a sixth to get him.
Painter is a journeyman trying to squeeze out a few more years for some extra paychecks. That is fine, but nobody is going to pick him up if we cut him. He'd therefore most likely be available if we needed to resign him during the season.
I have no doubt that Nassib could beat any NFL team's

This. If Eli goes down at length we're fucked anyway, I'd rather see the kid get an opportunity to develop than watch an aging clipboard holder even if he gives us a marginally better chance to win, and I'm not sure that he does anyway.
is a better quarterback than Geno Smith, who is a starter in this league. Where is the guy who always parrots Dilfer, saying Ryan doesnt have any touch & throws every pass the same way? He hit the 2 seamers because the route was run properly .
We all know it is Eli. Gentlemen, it is time to start pondering this possibility- Eli might not fit into new coaches system.
Well, iif you are right, and Manning doesn't straighten himself out, it's a sobering thought that the future QB of the Giants May already be on the roster, even if Manning plays out his contract and doesnt get resigned.@ years from now if Eli doesnt get better they may not resign him. a lot can hapopen in 2 years. He may have gotten injured, and Nassib may have already had some regular season play filling in. Maybe he's done well. Maybe the Giants starting QB in 2016 is a guy who first showed he could do it, could come from behind and win is a guy who really took his first step to establish himself this evening. one never knows.I do know that what I aw tonight, was something you don't see every day.Nor do you see a team that comes back from 26 points behind.
We saw some very troubling things tonight. We may have seen
the first inklings a great Giant and 2 time super bowl MVP is in an inexorable decline. It may be that this is the night that it first became apparent MacAdoo was here on a one year rental, and this was going to be TCs last year.
Maybe the wheels come off the trolley and by seasons end it's clear to management that Reese is not the man and his salvage plan was a total disaster and he gets his walking papers.Shit, Maybe TC doesnt get fired and they give himReeses job.who knows. Maybe the hall of fame careers of Washington and Harris started tonight when they solidified their spots on the Giants 2014 roster.
In an insignificant preseason game where it seemed we won a meaningless contest but otherwise looked abysmal, I have a funny feeling we saw things tonight that will lead to big changes for this team, for good or ill, that we won't realize until a few years from now started this evening.
He was starting because he ahd gone 10/10 before tonight and had helped us win the first 2 games. He started the 4th quarter with a scoring drive that got everything going. Don't know we need to say "He sucks". If he sucks than what Is Eli? A swallower?

Some people take preseason football way too seriously.
We're football junkies. We all take it too seriously.
If he pans out, you get a good backup for Eli for 5 years for low cost. You can then trade this asset for a higher value. Even if he doesn't pan out, it's just a 4th rd pick.
But to say he could even overtake manning is absurd, nassib has improved greatly from last year. That being said where I think nassib outplays painter is the two minute offense. 3/4 of cuse's offense was no huddle offense and he was really efficient running that at cuse. Last night late in the fourth you saw that command and confidence he had well running the no huddle. Thats were nassib beats painter
Nassib looks like crap against the 2nd team, an Painter looks great against the 3/4th team. So everyone loves Painter. Then Painter looks like crap against the 2nd team and Nassib lights up the 3/4th teams, so naturally Nassib is better than Eli.
Its absurd. This is preseason. The coaches are looking at players in specific situations, trying players in different places, and keeping everything vanilla.
And LOL at this. He has barely any experience at all. He got very limited pre-season time as a rookie last year behind a horrid offensive like that he barely ever had 2 seconds to stand up behind and now he's in a new system and just 3 more games of limited action in.
I have absolutely no idea what people like you expect. This is a 4th round pick. Not a guy we took in rd 1 and expect to be starting this year.
Pugh is an established starter. Hankins is close to that. Moore is showing the pass rushing skillswe drafted him for. Nassib is proving his worth as a backup qb. Cooper Taylor is making plays. Michael Cox may stick as a backup rb.
Right now Nassib is better than Eli in this offense
If we lose Eli to an injury, the season may be over anyway. But I'll take our chances with Nassib behind the wheel. He was fun to watch.
Have to hand it to TC. Man knows how to motivate.
Painter played great last week.
Which week is more important than the other?

If that were true, and that is still a big if then the coaches had better be the ones making the appropriate adjustments and not the other way around.
They both bought themselves another week.
