His behavior in the game and his terse post game comment makes it seem like he felt wronged by the Giants somehow. What did the Giants do except patiently wait for him to pull his head out of his ass until the season was completely lost?
But I remember a poster saying that no matter what he or others did they were wrong but when Eli made a mistake there were excuses made or others got blamed. On top of that, he played through injuries but never got rewarded for that. He felt he put his health on the line and the Giants ultimately didn't care when it came time to talk about a contract. Lastly, when they did want to talk he either didn't get an offer or an insulting offer. Add in the fact that he has a label as a dog here in NY and then you get his mentality. Right or wrong that is what I have gathered.
Nicks gets killed by the fans and media and just had enough. I don't hold grudges. The guy helped us win a super bowl. I wish him the best. It was one of those situations where a new environment was best. So be it.

Robbie plain and simply, in his contract year, he dogged it. If his spirit was broken by Cruz getting his contract (a bargain contract, not a rich one) that was because Cruz's contract was up 1st. There is no doubt Nicks can play with the best. He just didn't seem to try to hard last year when he needed to do so.
I could be wrong, but I am convinced of this in my eyes:
I remember all of the excitement going into the Carolina game. He was from there and had arranged for his whole family to be there and was supposed to be a big deal for him. Then the game played and our O-line got terrorized by the Carolina defense and Nicks went catchless and it was a total disaster. From that point on Nick's attitude was, this team is going no where, I'm out of here after this year and I'm not going to risk getting injured and blow my contract. He took a ton of heat for that game and probably didn't like some of the statements that were made, especially coming off the embarrassment of it happening infront of his family and friends.
And after that the media started coming down and in the 0-6 streak lots of fingers got pointed and things got ugly all around. The bitterness Nicks has probably came from how all of that was handled, but in my eyes it starts and ends with this guy packing it in after Carolina.
then acted like a meaningless preseason game was the Super Bowl last night. Not sure what happened to him, bc he was money for us in 2011, but for whatever reason he's turned into a punk now
is not worthy of a comment. Screw hlm. Please note that Coughlin mentions that they did game plan for some of the Colts special pressures. This puts to the lie what was said by Dottino this week about disregarding the result of plays because they were running dummy calls that would have no place in the regular season. Well that was bullshit it seems.
Last pre-season it was during the Colts game that the entire Giants offense, including Eli, could not handle the speed of the opponent. It was painfully evident. The sobering conclusion drawn from last night is that nothing has changed.
Everyone feeds into the Nicks slander. This guy is as responsible for our run in 2011 as anyone. Absolute beast in the playoffs. He was made into a scapegoat.
Dont believe everything you read/hear. If nicks was all about the money he would never dog it in a contract yr
from others, is the depth across the team. Previously, 2nd, and 3rd lines would come in and not let or QBs get anything going. This year, it's the 2nd and 3rd oline and units that have been getting the job done. Depth-wise we appear fairly solid, even on the oline.
Quality depth is so important, especially with all the injuries in the NFL.
they definitely need more time to get their act together though, especially on the oline. It is going to take much longer then people want to give however. Could take at least the first quarter of the season IMV.

I agree completely - 90 should be the max but if a team wants to open camp with 60 that should be their prerogative.
