who knows a thing or 2 about QB play in the NFL:

"Quite frankly, I'm very concerned about what I've seen thus far," Esiason, a CBS analyst and WFAN morning co-host, told me Monday at a luncheon in New York. "This should be a smoother transition. This is not the way [the offense] is supposed to look, especially with the emphasis on defensive holding and illegal contact. They're not moving the ball, while pretty much everyone else in the NFL is."

The thing that's disheartening is that it looks like he's not even interested," Esiason said. "It doesn't look normal to me. It doesn't look right to me. I use the word disinterested. He's frustrated and he's grinding right now. I don't know why, but that shouldn't be the case."

spot on from a guy not biased with being a Giants fan/supporter. imo eli has been one of, if not THE, worst starting QB in the league since Sandy. its hard to believe but the guy is ineffective, woefully so

I'd have to check again to make sure. For a guy that played professional sports, he knows nothing. But remember, he is not paid to be correct. He's paid to keep the audience coming back.

Take a look at some of the things he said prior to the NHL finals. I know he's a Rangers homer, but sheesh. I really should have bet the house on LA.

Read the Post article. While much of it is "what else are they gonna say?" there are some encouraging bits. Rashad Jennings in particular invites all the "panicking" fans to step off the bus. We'll see.
Not sure how he can be spot on

from the article posted.

how about refuting his points? that it's incredibly easy to move the ball and that everyone else is doing it...??? in other words - playing offense is easy in this league.

even switching schemes, coaches and implementing new systems comes quickly around the league. why not us?

which I'm guessing, are related to the wait staff at the Tick Tock Diner.

Eli looks disinterested? Shit, doesn't that sound familiar, like what people were saying about him when he won his first SB. Then, the knock went away for a bit, then just before 2011 we heard the same thing again, he's not a leader, his body language, blah blah blah.

Eli's problem right now is the offense isn't working. Falls mainly on him, but it's a team game and there are plenty of other culprits. His being disinterested/frustrated is never going to be a problem for us.

how about refuting his points? that it's incredibly easy to move the ball and that everyone else is doing it...??? in other words - playing offense is easy in this league.

even switching schemes, coaches and implementing new systems comes quickly around the league. why not us?

Because that point, in particular, is idiotic. San Francisco has scored three points this year. If its so easy, what's wrong with them?

It took the Eagles halfway through the year last year for them to start winning. Heck, they scored seven points against us in October. What's wrong with Chip Kelly's system.

Boomer Esaison knows little more than you or I do about how "comfortable" Eli is, or how interested. He is paid to feed red meat to the screamers, and apparently he's good at it.

about how easy it is to move the ball in today's NFL rings loud and true. there is simply no excuse 4 the level of incompetence we're seeing, and have seen

Yep. Clearly the Giants will have the worst offense in NFL history this coming season. And Eli doesn't care.

Please. Stop.
refuting his points?

there is no point. It's the preseason. You can't just throw absolutes around based on 2-3 scrimmages. Yet we see this shit every year. Every year.

Over the past 35 years one thing is clear...you can't put too much stock in these games if any stock at all. I'm not saying bad preseasons don't lead to bad regular seasons and vice versa. Sometimes a bad preseason can in fact lead to a bad regular season...we saw it last year. We see good preseasons lead to good regular seasons too...that is a fact. The problem is, there is no pattern. The preseason regular season correlation is random. And yet that doesn't stop people from going crazy this time of year.

It's Boomer's job to analyze the mundane and irrelevant and turn it into something that garners attention. Doesn't mean he's right or even close to being right.

Def Coord says,"This is an evaluation phase," Davis said. "Sometimes evaluation looks painful, but sometimes it looks promising. . . . [We're] trying to tighten our coverage up and evaluate who can cover, who can't - evaluate who can rush, who can't."

This was in response to how a weakness last year has looked worse so far in the preseason.

I think this comment could be applied to our Oline and new offense. Coughlin et al, are obviously concerned, but I think much of the preseason is a straight evaluation phase and you almost want to see who fails, and put them in the position to fail. You hope they don't and play like expected, but there is only one way to evaluate that...now when the season starts your goals switch immediately to the opposite end of the spectrum. Now you specifically gameplan around these perceived weaknesses and try to minimize them and play to team strengths. In the preseason you almost want to see what/who fails....maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better, but I'll hold total judgement until we're seeing this same level of ineptitude In the 3 and 4 games of the season. Then I will freak out :)

Well, for starters we've played 3 preseason games and NOT "everyone else" is moving the ball easily.

So we can start there if you'd like.
