NFT: Punta Cana Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe Questions

Has anyone ever been? Taking the family down there for a few nights in September. I know the resort is great but there are mixed reviews about the food. Any recommendations on which are good? We will also have our 2 little ones with us (2 and 5). Any advice on the resort in general so we can maximize our experience.

but we did take our 3 kids (11, 9 and 7) to Hard Rock Punta Cana earlier this year and everyone had a blast. Pools and beach at the resort were great and an awesome kids club on site. Lots of different dining options at the resort. We had low expectations on the food based on reviews we had read, but we always found the food to be average to good at all the restaurants at the resort.

if you are hispanic, you will love the food. If not, it will be ok. Lots to do for the kids. The beach and the resort is nice.

Not impressed, Ive been to Iberostar Grand in Jamaica, Barcelo Tropical in Mexico, and the Paradisus Riviera Maya and it would rank near the bottom of them all (even though the Barcelo isnt even considered a 5 star resort).

It wasnt well kept, the food at the restaurants SUCKED, load up on lobster and steak at lunch. Dont even attempt to ask for guacamole, ask for avocados (Pronounced awakadey) and try to enjoy the activities which were pretty fun and the water is great. Its not a horrible resort, but I felt for the money I would just go back to Mexico and enjoy the food and the staff much more.

stayed at the Bahia Principe Amber- all adult it was great! really relaxing all you can eat and drink. Pool is awesome with a pool bar. The price is fantastic for $2000 my wife and I stayed four nights/5 days. Flight and everything included.
