the kid put a lot of work in during the offseason.. bulked up a few lbs. and I thought he was playing well during the preseason. Unfortunate for the kid.
But we really overstate things around here, don't we? Losing Cooper Taylor is not a huge blow. Come on...
I think it's a huge blow as far as another darft pick that showed promise not getting on the field. And draft picks have to contribute in order for a team to be successful now a days. Big picture.
This kid is definitely an NFL player, and very possibly a starter a little farther down the road, IF he can stay healthy. But he's got an injury history longer than both your arms.
To go along with one INT and at least one pass attempt batted down that I can recall. Berhe has four tackles to his credit. How can you possibly say that Berhe made more plays than Taylor?
Players who are frequently injured early in their careers...

I agree. Taylor would have been our #3 safety and would have been on the field quite a bit. Losing him is a blow to specials and to our defense. When you are as big and fast as cooper is you get playing time.
No question we will carry 6 CBs now. I'm sure a guy like Bowman can play some safety in a pinch.
I think he has an important role in this defense in the future, he will be needed against the many tough. TE's we face in our division.
Agreed. Two years with nothing to show for playing time. Don't think we use short term IR on him. He's unproven in real games. Regular IR.

And while he can't practice, he can work out. Could be even bigger and stronger for next season.

fixed
Is it really? I hope Berhe is up to the task, because I doubt Demps is.

any player, but we are going to lose players, and it we're going to lose players, 3rd safety is squarely in the "Able to absorb the loss" category.

I give. Losing Cooper Taylor is the worst calamity that could have ever befallen this team.
Spot the F on. I get why it's tempting to do this. He's had a great camp, but you can't use short term IR on a safety that's 4th on the depth chart.
Sincerely,
