So I want to get rid of my Ipad Mini and replace my old windows laptop

Would the surface Pro 3 be worth it? Also Is 64GB enough (I think half is actually useable)
64GB seems tight

Though of course it depends on what you use in for.

There is an SD card slot though.
It may work for you personally....

But it kind of illustrates MS's new mantra: "Creating Solutions to Problems That Never Existed".

It fails as a tablet, as its too big and heavy to be used conveniently as a mobile device. There's also a very large gap in supported tablet apps, especially if you're coming off of an iPad. You are likely going to be missing some stuff you use day-to-day that isn't (and likely will never) be there.

As a laptop, its too expensive for what you get and you can probably get better bang for your buck in a Win 8 machine with a Lenovo Yoga (if you want the conversion factor), a "normal" laptop with better specs, etc.

If you really are emphasizing the laptop portion and have mobility in that specific realm as your top priority, I can see it making sense (though there's better value out there). I had one for work as a test run to see if we were going to adopt (consulting firm) and I traded it back in for a standard issue Lenovo ThinkPad. Its a slick device, just not a very useful one in most settings.
I would tell you...
